Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Service Now Software Engineer with strong hands-on experience in Service Now Discovery, Certificate Management, CMDB, IRE, integrations, and Service Now scripting.
The ideal candidate will help implement and enhance Service Now Certificate Management capabilities, improve certificate discovery and data consolidation, and develop automation within the Service Now platform.
This role is part of a team focused on establishing Service Now as a single source of truth by integrating and reconciling data from multiple external systems.
Key Responsibilities- Install, configure, and enhance the Service Now Certificate Management Module.
- Configure and support Service Now Discovery for certificates.
- Develop and maintain integrations between Service Now and external systems.
- Configure and manage CMDB Identification and Reconciliation Engine (IRE) rules.
- Ensure accurate identification, reconciliation, and consolidation of data within the Service Now CMDB.
- Develop Service Now scripts using JavaScript and platform scripting capabilities.
- Build automation to automatically create incidents based on defined certificate or system criteria.
- Configure workflows, business rules, Script Includes, and other Service Now automation components.
- Troubleshoot Discovery, CMDB, integration, and certificate-related issues.
- Help establish Service Now as the organization's centralized source of truth.
- Collaborate with technical teams and stakeholders to understand requirements and implement scalable Service Now solutions.
- Perform custom Service Now development and configuration as required.
- 5+ years of software engineering or Service Now development experience.
- Hands-on experience with Service Now Discovery.
- Hands-on experience with Service Now certificate discovery.
- Strong experience with the Identification and Reconciliation Engine (IRE).
- Experience developing and configuring Service Now integrations.
- Strong Service Now scripting/JavaScript experience.
- Experience with Service Now automation, workflows, Business Rules, Script Includes, or similar platform capabilities.
- Experience working with CMDB data reconciliation and consolidation.
- Service Now Certified System Administrator (CSA) certification — REQUIRED.
- Service Now Certified Application Developer (CAD) certification — REQUIRED.
- Hands-on experience implementing or configuring the Service Now Certificate Management Module.
- Experience with certificate lifecycle management.
- Experience with SSL/TLS certificates or enterprise certificate environments.
- Experience integrating certificate data from multiple external sources into Service Now.
- Experience automating certificate-related incidents and notifications.
- Strong understanding of Service Now CMDB architecture and data management.
