Overview

Job Announcement. The City of Chandler Community Services Department is seeking qualified individuals to join our team as a Recreation Assistant at the Chandler Tennis Center (part-time, temporary, non-benefited position). This position serves at the discretion of the Department Director. Scheduled hours may range from 1 to 19 hours per week and are determined at the discretion of the Department Director.

Workdays may vary, and employees may be scheduled to work any day of the week. Typical shifts are from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., Monday through Sunday. Primary shifts for this position are Saturday and Sunday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and/or 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.

We’re seeking someone with a passion for customer service, teamwork, and collaboration. A general knowledge of tennis and strong administrative skills are important. This includes experience with registration and reservation software, maintaining a clean and welcoming environment, assisting customers and addressing facility needs, and fostering a culture of camaraderie, courtesy, and respect. The ideal candidate is energetic, a team player, capable of multitasking, and able to exercise sound independent judgment.

• Some High School; and
• 1 year of experience in a recreation environment; and
• First Aid/CPR Certification required within 90 days of employment; or
• A valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record; or
• Any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work.

• 3 years of college coursework in Recreation, Physical Education, or a related field.

The City of Chandler will conduct a pre-employment drug and alcohol test and a driving record check as a condition of employment. An offer of employment is contingent upon acceptable results. All applicants hired will be required to be fingerprinted with successful results as a condition of continued employment.
