Accounting Specialist
A Technology organization is seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Specialist to support day-to-day accounting operations. This role offers exposure to Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, collections, payment posting, account research, reconciliations, and sales tax support. The ideal candidate will be organized, detail-oriented, and interested in long-term career growth.
Job DutiesAccounts Receivable
- Process and post customer payments accurately and timely
- Manage collections activities and follow up on outstanding balances
- Generate customer statements
- Research and resolve account discrepancies
- Assist with account cleanup and reconciliations
Accounts Payable
- Process vendor invoices and ensure timely payments
- Review invoices for accuracy and proper coding
- Communicate with vendors regarding payment or invoice questions
- Support month-end AP processes
General Accounting
- Assist with sales tax filings and related reporting
- Perform account reconciliations and transaction research
- Maintain accurate financial records and documentation
- Support accounting leadership with special projects
- Assist with bookkeeping-related tasks as needed
- 2-4 years of experience in Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, bookkeeping, or general accounting
- Experience with collections, payment posting, and account reconciliations
- Basic understanding of accounting principles
- Sales tax experience is preferred
- Experience with accounting software or ERP systems
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Pay: $27-30/hour, depending on experience, with expected pay bump upon hire
- Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM
- Location: Chanhassen, fully onsite during training; hybrid flexibility may be available later
- Type: Contract-to-hire with long-term growth potential
