About the RoleThe Electronics Technician plays a critical role in ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of electronic systems and equipment. The technician will work closely with engineering and production teams to support product development, testing, and quality assurance processes. - High school diploma or equivalent with completion of an accredited electronics technician program or relevant technical training.
- Proven experience in electronics repair, maintenance, or a related technical field.
- Strong understanding of electronic theory, circuit design, and diagnostic techniques.
- Proficiency in using electronic testing equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and signal generators.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
- Associate degree or higher in Electronics Technology, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 5+ years' experience working with digital and analog systems, microcontrollers, and embedded systems.
- Familiarity with soldering techniques and surface-mount technology (SMT).
- Knowledge of safety standards.
- Perform routine and preventive maintenance on electronic equipment to ensure continuous operation.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot malfunctions in electronic circuits and components using specialized tools and testing equipment.
- Repair or replace defective parts, including circuit boards, wiring, and connectors, following technical manuals and schematics.
- Collaborate with engineers to assist in the installation, calibration, and testing of new electronic systems and prototypes.
- Document all maintenance and repair activities accurately, maintaining logs and reports for compliance and future reference.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and industry regulations during all repair and maintenance activities.
- Provide technical support and training to other staff members as needed.
The Electronics Technician utilizes their technical knowledge daily to diagnose and resolve complex electronic issues efficiently, ensuring minimal downtime.
