Our client, a highly respected in-house legal team for a major corporation, is seeking a Real Estate Development Paralegal to join their team. This confidential search is for a key role supporting the legal and business teams responsible for the company's real estate and property development functions. The position is located in the southwest suburbs of the Twin Cities.
You will be an integral part of the property development team, working directly with attorneys and business partners on all aspects of real estate and development. This is a hands-on role with a wide range of responsibilities, including:
+ Drafting and analyzing legal documents. This includes reviewing, revising, and analyzing a variety of contracts such as leases, letters of intent, purchase agreements, and easements. You'll also prepare first drafts of simpler agreements for attorney review.
+ Managing real estate transactions from start to finish. You will be responsible for reviewing titles and surveys, drafting objection letters, preparing comprehensive closing checklists and documents, and coordinating with all parties to ensure efficient closings.
+ Supporting property management and lease administration. You'll assist with joint venture agreements, property management agreements, and track critical dates and legal requirements.
+ Handling licensing and regulatory matters. This includes analyzing real estate and broker license requirements for various business lines in new jurisdictions and tracking the status of licenses and permits.
Requirements
We are seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented paralegal with a strong background in real estate law.
+ 5-10 years of experience as a real estate paralegal, preferably in-house or with a law firm.
+ Proven expertise in reviewing, revising, and analyzing leases and purchase agreements.
+ Extensive experience preparing for and managing real estate closings.
+ Demonstrated experience with title and survey review.
+ Exceptional organizational and communication skills are essential. You must be able to work independently, manage multiple deadlines, and build strong relationships with internal and external partners.
+ Self-motivated and able to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
