Senior Mechanical Construction Project Manager
West Metro | $102,000–$135,000 Base + Incentives | Direct Hire | Onsite / Jobsite-Focused
This Senior Project Manager opportunity is with a large, well-capitalized mechanical contractor known for delivering some of the most technically complex and high-profile projects in the Upper Midwest. The organization combines the scale, backlog, and financial strength of a national platform with the autonomy and accountability of a strong regional operating group. With a multi-year backlog, significant upcoming work, and a compensation structure that rewards performance, this role is well-suited for experienced mechanical PMs who want control over their projects, earnings, and long-term career trajectory.
- Own full lifecycle delivery of complex mechanical construction projects, including plumbing, piping, and sheet metal scopes, with accountability for schedule, margin, and client satisfaction.
- Lead and grow client and general contractor relationships, actively generating new work through networking, proposals, and presentations.
- Manage and mentor Project Managers and Assistant Project Managers, serving as a technical and leadership resource across the team.
- Oversee project financial performance, including budgeting, labor forecasting, change order pricing, and margin management.
- Partner with estimating, BIM/CAD, preconstruction, and field leadership to ensure seamless execution from pursuit through closeout.
- Champion safety, quality, and continuous improvement initiatives across assigned projects.
- Ten or more years of progressive project management experience in mechanical contracting, with hands-on exposure to plumbing, piping, and sheet metal scopes.
- Proven ability to manage large, technically complex projects, often exceeding $10M in value.
- Strong client-facing and business development capabilities, including proposal leadership and relationship-driven work acquisition.
- Demonstrated success leading and developing PM/APM teams while maintaining strong relationships with foremen and field crews.
- Healthcare facility experience required for healthcare-focused roles; industrial or large commercial experience strongly preferred for general roles.
- Competitive base salary with a performance-driven incentive structure tied to margin and business development.
- 401(k) with company match, profit sharing, and employee stock purchase plan participation.
- Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance.
- Paid time off and paid holidays, with flexibility based on tenure and role.
- Long-term career development supported by internal training programs and clear advancement paths.
