Overall

Summary:

The Manager of Warehouse provides overall leadership to the department(s) to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

The person in this role will oversee a team of Supervisors in the Warehouse department.

Primary Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Oversee receiving, shipping, storing, issuing, dispatching, and inventory of materials to meet internal and external customer expectations.
  • Coordinate staging, organization and loading of raw materials, generic and personalized components, and processed mail. Ensure adherence of daily receiving and shipping functions for material loading and offloading, count verification, labeling and storage.
  • Oversee inventory management of IWCO and customer-owned raw materials (paper, plastic, cartons etc.). Coordinate and oversee year‑end physical inventory process, as well as physical inventories for all generic materials, including "on‑demand" inventories, and ensuring completion of related time‑sensitive tasks/functions.
  • Accountable for logistics management, i.e. maintaining and evaluating transportation needs and carrier performance and coordinating transportation of customer materials to/from other facilities via collaboration/communications with Material Coordinators and Logistics personnel. Other duties include:
    • Maintain driver DOT files and driver list and register drivers for DOT physicals.
    • Negotiate lease/purchase of Tractors, Trailers, Dock Trucks, and Delivery Vans.
    • Assure fleet is maintained and available for scheduled maintenance or repairs.
    • Assure drivers and vehicles are covered under IWCO's insurance.
    • Investigate incidents/insurance claims involving drivers, trucks, trailers, and vans.
    • Maintain fleet of material handling power equipment to include purchase/lease, PMs and repairs.
    • Maintain dock levelers, dock locks, garage doors, wrappers, and stappers.
  • Accountable for leading and sustaining identified LEAN methodology principles and working to identify new LEAN opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with company and OSHA safety‑related policies and procedures.
  • Investigate equipment and supply needs and research cost‑effective purchasing sources.
  • Direct training of department personnel. Possess core competencies to develop team and its leadership to meet business needs and ensure succession planning. Determine and request addition or reduction in labor force as needed.
  • Mentor and direct and develop direct reports.
  • Establish standards of performance and manage against responsibilities and accountabilities.
  • Follow all established safety procedures and applicable regulations.
  • Promote safety as a number one priority.
  • Model and foster a positive workplace culture; take accountability for overall team performance.
  • Provide constructive and timely performance evaluations.
  • Coach and develop direct reports.
  • Manage paid time off for direct reports.
  • Perform other (or other related) duties as applicable or assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities/

Competencies:
  • Microsoft Office Suite proficiency;
    Foundation experience a plus.
  • Excellent problem‑solving skills and demonstrated customer service orientation.
  • Demonstrated well‑developed strategic thinking.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Effectively manage pressure under rapidly fluctuating workloads and deadlines, communicate any risks/issues clearly; elevate issues appropriately.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize tasks and projects.
  • Positive demeanor and strong work‑ethic.
  • Bilingual is a plus.
Education and Experience:
  • High school graduate or equivalent. College and/or vocational training a plus. Will consider comparable industry experience equivalent to education.
  • 3–5 years' shipping/receiving management and/or material control experience.
  • Proven leadership abilities, including ability to establish/maintain professional relationships.
  • Experience with warehouse and OSHA safety procedures and compliance.
  • Previous participation on a safety team and/or other safety training preferred.
  • Lean manufacturing and/or quality control training preferred.
  • Knowledge of USPS regulations.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to work 8 hours consecutively, Monday through Friday.
