Rink Attendant Manager

Rink Attendant Managers serve as the on-site supervisor of the City of Chanhassen's outdoor ice rinks and warming houses. Their primary responsibility is to provide leadership, enforce park rules, and implement safe recreation practices both on the rinks and in the warming house, while also overseeing scheduling and staff across all locations. Interviews will be conducted as applications are received until all positions have been filled.

Duties and responsibilities include:

• Ensuring appropriate behavior and safety guidelines are followed by participants in the warming house and skating areas
• Creating and maintaining the staff schedule for all warming house locations
• Occasionally checking in on staff at the warming houses
• Collecting accident reports and information regarding accidents, disruptive behavior, or maintenance issues from staff and reporting to supervisor
• Relaying any feedback heard from staff or the community to supervisor
• Carrying out instructions given by supervisor promptly and accurately
• Submitting verbal and written reports and evaluations as required
• Performing opening and closing duties daily
• Taking participant counts hourly
• Performing cleaning duties as assigned
• Assisting maintenance staff with rink maintenance and other duties as deemed necessary

Job specifics include:

• Season runs approximately mid-December to mid-March (weather permitting)
• Rink hours: weekdays 4:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m., Saturdays 10:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m., Sundays 1:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., and no school days 10:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m.
• Approximately 10-30 hours per week, based on availability, with required hours on weekends

Required qualifications include:

• Applicants must be at least 16 years of age at the start of employment
• Must possess strong interpersonal skills
• Must be able to consistently work evenings and weekends
• Must have reliable transportation to and from job site

This position is not benefit eligible.
