The CNC Machinist will have the opportunity to put their machining expertise to work in a hands-on manufacturing environment where quality, precision, and continuous improvement matter! This role will involve the set up and operation of CNC milling equipment to produce custom plastic and metal components, interpreting prints and programs, making CNC program adjustments, and inspecting finished work to ensure it meets our high-quality standards.
The CNC Machinist will have the opportunity to take ownership of their work, solve problems, identify process and cost improvements, and contribute their experience as a valued member of a growing, team-oriented manufacturing operation.
Job Responsibilities
- Machine plastic and metal parts to print and program specifics
- Use job knowledge to continuously improve the quality and cost of machined products
- Edit CNC programs as required
- Estimate labor hours to produce new parts and initiate cost reductions on current parts
- Perform secondary machining operations as required
- Perform simple maintenance on tools and equipment as required
- Utilize inspection equipment to inspect own work and the work of others to ensure products meet internal company and external customer quality expectations
- Develop and approve relevant work instructions as required
- Exhibit leadership characteristics in the areas of attendance, positive and active team participation, cost reduction, and quality improvement
- Crosstrain and assist with training others, as required
- Clean and maintain work areas
- Adhere to and support all safety policies and guidelines
- Perform other duties as assigned
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Five (5) years of experience operating CNC mills
- Knowledge of and ability to run all machines in the assigned work center (Haas, Mazak, and Milltronics milling machines) - willing to train on brand of mill
