Position:Operations Engineer (Facilities Engineer III / Senior)
Location:
Channelview, TX or Carthage, TX.
The Operations Engineer provides technical support and engineering expertise for the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of pipelines, compressor stations, and measurement & regulation (M&R) facilities. As a field‑based member of the operations engineering team, the engineer is the first‑line technical support for day‑to‑day operations, troubleshooting, and compliance with regulatory and process safety requirements. The role collaborates closely with Field Operations, Engineering & Construction, and other Asset Performance & Innovation groups to drive operational excellence, continuous improvement, and successful execution of asset management initiatives.
RequiredSkills, Knowledge, and Experience
- 5+ years supporting natural gas compressor stations (midstream oil & gas preferred).
- Working knowledge of pipeline, compressor station, and/or M&R facility operations.
- Familiarity with process safety management (PSM), management of change (MOC), and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem‑solving skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Proficiency with relevant engineering software and digital tools.
- Willingness to travel to field locations as required (up to 40% of the time).
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Experience supporting field operations in an owner’s engineer capacity.
- Experience with digital transformation, automation, or data analytics in field operations.
- Knowledge of asset integrity, measurement, automation, or compression systems.
- Advanced proficiency in technical writing and documentation.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or progress toward licensure.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
