We are seeking a motivated and knowledgeable Inside Sales Representative with proven experience in pump and industrial rotating equipment sales. This position is ideal for someone who understands the technical sales process, can support customers with product selection, and can help drive business growth in industrial, municipal, commercial, and marine markets.
The Inside Sales Representative will be responsible for handling inbound sales inquiries, preparing quotes, supporting outside sales efforts, following up on opportunities, and working directly with customers, vendors, and internal teams to provide reliable pump and rotating equipment solutions.
Key Responsibilities- Respond to customer inquiries by phone, email, and online channels
- Prepare accurate quotes for pumps, pump parts, mechanical seals, motors, gearboxes, and related rotating equipment
- Review customer specifications, drawings, pump data, and application requirements
- Assist customers with product selection, replacements, repairs, and upgrades
- Follow up on open quotes, RFQs, and sales opportunities
- Build and maintain relationships with customers, engineers, procurement teams, plant personnel, and vendors
- Coordinate with purchasing, service, repair, and warehouse teams to ensure timely order fulfillment
- Source pricing, lead times, and technical information from manufacturers and suppliers
- Enter and manage customer orders, quotes, and account information
- Support outside sales representatives with project opportunities and account follow-up
- Identify opportunities for add-on sales, replacement parts, repair services, and new equipment
- Maintain a strong understanding of pumps, industrial rotating equipment, applications, and industry standards
- Pump and industrial rotating equipment sales experience is required
- Experience selling or quoting centrifugal pumps, positive displacement pumps, submersible pumps, mechanical seals, motors, gearboxes, or related equipment
- Ability to read and understand technical specifications, pump curves, drawings, and equipment data
- Strong knowledge of industrial, municipal, commercial, or marine pump applications
- Experience working with engineers, procurement teams, maintenance teams, plant managers, and end users
- Strong communication, organization, and customer service skills
- Ability to manage multiple quotes, orders, and customer requests at one time
- Comfortable working in a fast‑paced sales environment
- Proficiency with email, CRM systems, ERP systems, Microsoft Office, and basic sales tools
- Existing relationships within industrial, municipal, commercial, oil and gas, refinery, marine, or manufacturing markets
- Experience with pump repair, field service, or rotating equipment service sales
- Familiarity with major pump and rotating equipment manufacturers
- Mechanical or technical background preferred
- Ability to identify customer needs and recommend practical equipment solutions
The ideal candidate is technically knowledgeable, highly organized, customer-focused, and confident discussing pump and rotating equipment applications. This person should be able to manage quotes from start to finish, communicate clearly with customers and vendors, and help turn inquiries into profitable sales.
CompensationCompensation will be based on experience and qualifications and is base salary plus commission
