Rigger
This person will assemble rigging to lift and move various equipment and materials from industrial work areas. The essential duties and responsibilities are listed below. Other duties may be assigned.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities- Select cables, ropes, pull‑up, winches, blocks, and sheaves according to weight and size of load.
- Attach pull‑up and blocks to fixed overhead structures such as beams, ceilings, and gin‑pole boom with bolts and clamps.
- Assemble and disassemble cranes.
- Splice rope and wire cables to make or repair slings or tackle.
- Attach load with grappling devices such as loops, wire rope and chains to crane hook.
- Give direction to operator engaged in hoisting and moving loads to ensure safety of workers and material using hand signals and radios.
- Set up, brace and rig hoisting equipment using hand tools and power wrenches.
- Observe and monitor others’ compliance with all safety rules.
- Maintain current certifications to meet regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle or touch and to reach with hands or arms. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear and taste or smell. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and may frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
- Education – no minimum education requirements.
- Experience – 4 years of Journeyman‑level experience.
- Certification/Licenses – NCCCO Rigger 1 & 2 or Advanced Gold Card NCCER Certification, and a Valid Driver’s License.
