The Logistics Scheduler is an integral part of the Bulk Handling Operations providing guidance and direction on a daily basis regarding the loading requirements by container type (barge, rail car, truck) to the bulk handlers across the Channelview site. Basic duties include communicating with the Corporate Logistics group to establish customer loading requirements on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis. Confirms with Unit Operations when products are ready to ship and the approval to do so against established Certificates of Analysis.

Works to resolve customer issues that may arise on a daily basis and ensures all documentation is prepared and routed to all affected parties. Prepares a daily, weekly, and monthly schedule for all loading operations and prepares information for the Bourque Yard Master Program indicating which rail cars are needed from the switching group and which rail cars must be placed on the outbound to the Union Pacific RR.

Must be available after hours and weekends to resolve unit product movement and shipping needs and coordinates with Bulk Handling Operations Management/Supervision on a daily basis any personnel requirements that may be needed.

• Communicate with Lyondell Basell Corporate, Covestro, Fleets, Inspection companies, Bulk Handling personnel, as well as LYB Unit Operations and raw material inventory coordinators. Monitor and maintain storage tank levels and drum levels for loading purposes where necessary.
• Verify and confirm with Unit Operations that finished products are in specification prior to issuing loading instructions.
• Enter orders from IPs into schedule and Terminal Smart and send orders to the Barge Dock lead so mandatory USCG paperwork is completed for each transfer.
• Maintain a four‑day look‑ahead schedule for loading needs.
• Work with Corporate Business/Supply Chain groups to resolve any customer‑related issues.
• Plan and coordinate barge loading/unloading schedule to meet plant operations, material inventory, and business requirements.
• Set loading/shipping priority for barge transfers.
• Schedule around all maintenance activities with no impact to the units, communicating all outages and working closely with the impacted unit to keep the unit from containment or mandating shut‑down.
• Proficient in SAP to access shipping orders, batch reclass, PGI, and GR barges.
• Knowledgeable of federal regulations applicable to bulk shipping, handling, and receiving of hazardous/non‑hazardous materials.
• Monitor daily weather and tide forecast to anticipate barge movements.
• Use Port Vision to monitor boat/barge movements to CVO docks.
• Verify that mandatory paperwork is filled out correctly per USCG mandatory documentation and that transfer documentation is uploaded into Terminal Smart.
• Maintain a working knowledge of USCG rules and regulations for barge transfers.
• Send Person in Charge (PIC) updates to the USCG.
• Coordinate and communicate with Bulk Handling Barge Dock personnel on loading requirements daily so that manpower scheduled matches the loading requirements.
