Position Description

CGI Federal is seeking candidates for the position of Contract Auditor to support a U.S. Government agency in the Washington Metropolitan Area (WMA). Successful candidates will work on the agency’s Financial Audit Services team, providing both pre‑award and post‑award financial audit services to the agency and other elements of the Intelligence Community. The role involves a wide range of routine to complex audits conducted in accordance with Generally Accepted Government Auditing Standards (GAGAS).

Responsibilities
  • Conduct a wide range of routine to complex audits in accordance with GAGAS, or serve as an audit team member on larger, more complex assignments.
  • Gather and analyze accounting records and supporting documents necessary to perform transaction testing on post‑award contract audits.
  • Prepare exhibits, schedules, and audit folders, documenting all guidance and meetings with requestors, program offices, and contractor personnel.
  • Summarize audit results, ensuring all work papers have a purpose, scope, conclusion, and source indexing.
  • Draft audit reports for government audit financial manager approval, attaching exhibits and schedules as necessary.
  • Prepare final audits for government audit manager approval to expedite contract settlement.
  • Employ auditing techniques—including statistical sampling, regression analysis, and review of historical cost—to formulate recommendations on allowability, allocability, and reasonableness per applicable regulations.
  • Review and analyze post‑award audits, maintaining knowledge of GAGAS, GAAP, FAR, Cost Accounting Standards, and related regulations.
  • Demonstrate strong organizational, problem‑solving, analytic, research, oral communication, writing, and interpersonal skills.
  • Work effectively as part of a team, respecting roles and collaborating to achieve objectives.
Qualifications
  • Clearance:
    Top Secret clearance with polygraph.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of professional contract auditing experience, including planning and completing a full range of contract audits with governmental agencies such as the Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA).
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting or a related business discipline preferred, with a minimum of 24 credit hours in accounting and auditing.
  • Working knowledge of GAGAS, GAAP, FAR, Cost Accounting Standards, and related regulations.
  • Familiarity with computer applications and specialized databases.
  • Strong organizational, problem‑solving, analytical, research, oral communication, writing, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
