The Office of the Provost provides leadership, management, and guidance to support and achieve the academic mission for George Mason University. The various colleges, schools, and institutes rely on this office for constant programmatic support; planning assistance; policy expertise; and exceptional customer service. In addition, the Office of the Provost plays a crucial and high-profile role with the University’s governing board, the Board of Visitors.
This team is integral in the development, planning, and implementation of academic initiatives and policy that provides critical personnel support for the faculty and central support to the units that connects the Office of the Provost with Mason’s academic, administrative and local communities.
The Person nel Operations Coordinator will primarily focus on providing personnel and human resource support for departments in the Office of the Provost.
Responsibilities- Process and Monitor Position Descriptions in Page Up;
- Serve as Search Coordinator for the Office of the Provost and monitor recruitment documentation;
- Data entry of personnel records and maintenance of files;
- Processing of credentials in xTender and Ellucian Banner;
- Coordinate the hiring and onboarding of part-time employees;
- Submit personnel changes and transaction requests for Faculty and Staff as requested for approval;
- General office tasks including filing, copying, scanning, faxing, maintaining personnel records, etc. as needed; and
- Assist in ad hoc projects as needed.
- Higher education degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience;
- Experience working in a high-paced office setting;
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word;
- Experience with confidential and sensitive information;
- Successful in working independently as well as in a team environment; and
- Detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize multiple projects.
- Experience in higher education;
- Knowledge of Ellucian Banner;
- Experience using EMC Application Xtender Web Access or similar indexing software systems;
- Experience creating and editing Adobe Acrobat PDF files; and
- Experience with Page Up.
