International Admissions Assistant

Department: Division of Enrollment Management

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:30 am – 5:00 pm. Total expected hours 20-25 per week.

Location: Fairfax, VA

Workplace Type: On Site Required

About the Department: The Division for Enrollment Management, as part of the Office of the Provost at George Mason University, supports student recruitment, retention, and success. It develops and implements strategic enrollment management plans and facilitates processes that guide students through their academic journey from recruitment to post‑matriculation.

About the Position: A dynamic, self‑motivated, results‑oriented individual is needed for the part‑time position of International Admissions Assistant. This is an ongoing role seeking an individual who will become a long‑term team member.

Responsibilities
  • Processes and organizes admissions application materials.
  • Provides customer service to applicants (e.g., in person, by phone, e‑mail).
  • Assists with other duties and projects as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • Ability to perform work with substantial attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative team environment.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated work ethic and a commitment to the overall goals of the Mason Admissions Office.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal and cross‑cultural communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and/or confidential information and situations.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize projects, often working on multiple projects concurrently and adhering to tight deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bilingual.
  • Prior experience in a university admissions environment.
