Overview
Our Senior Cost Analyst will develop strategic estimates, optimize acquisition strategies, and ensure technical and financial compliance for complex military systems projects. The role supports programs involved in development and procurement of space vehicles, ground segments, software suites, and integration infrastructure for SBST PAE. The support and expertise provided will impact national defense objectives.
Responsibilities- Support the Space Systems Command (SSC) SBST mission area, working with Program Control Support staff as specified by the Customer.
- Interface with Space Force project officers, external USG partners, and commercial vendors.
- Perform cost modeling and launch vehicle execution scenario studies.
- Leverage subject matter expertise to address SSC and USSF leadership scenarios; develop and maintain tools, databases, and systems to maximize estimate accuracy and minimize development time.
- Provide input to specialized independent cost estimating products with defined scope and end product on an as-needed basis.
- Teach junior analysts and program managers the cost analysis and estimation process, and the underlying mathematical concepts.
- Coordinate with external estimating organizations (e.g., DAF/AFCAA and OSD/CAPE) using modeling and estimation expertise.
- Perform data analysis and performance visualization to safeguard government interests.
- Conduct rigorous evaluation and documentation for acquisition strategies.
- Create cost estimating relationships (CER) through advanced modeling and data analysis using commercial tools and supporting the Cost Analysis Data Operating Model (CADOM).
- Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) is required.
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience.
- Experience in cost estimating, program management, contract negotiations, and technical reviews across military systems.
- Knowledge of DoD budgetary principles and procedures.
- Understanding of acquisition management regulations, practices, policies, and procedures, including major system acquisition lifecycle resource planning, Acquisition Program Baseline (APB) development, and PMPs.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to recognize when decisions or information should be referred to a higher authority.
- Familiarity with CADOM and advanced commercial cost estimating software.

- Support for complex acquisition programs in an analytical and compliance-driven environment
- Some domestic travel may be required
- Active DoD TS/SCI Security Clearance is required.
- U.S. citizenship is required.
$110,000 - $125,000 per year, DOE
EducationBachelor’s degree required, preferably in math, engineering, business, or the sciences.
