Candidates experienced as USAF/USSF acquisition officers (AFSC: 63A) or developmental engineers (AFSC: 62E) leading satellite programs in the USSF (SSC), NRO, or SDA, applying the full range of the systems engineering discipline (e.g., Requirements Development, Architecture, SE milestones: SRR, PDR, CDR, etc.),

and/or DAWIA/PMI Program Management will be especially well-prepared to excel.

Job Description

This position is for a Business Operations Analyst in Chantilly, VA supporting cutting-edge and innovative space programs. The Business Operations Analyst serves as a key partner to Government program leadership providing financial insight, operational oversight, and guidance to support program and organizational performance. The position is integrated into the Government-led Program Office team requiring full-time on-site work.

Job Responsibilities
  • Oversee project cost control activities, including actual cost analysis, variance reporting, trend identification, and performance assessments.
  • Lead forecasting efforts, including labor, material, subcontract, revenue, profit, and indirect rate projections.
  • Review and approve financial analyses, forecasting rates, cost allocations, account assignments, and related business transactions.
  • Prepare, review, and communicate financial deliverables, quarterly program reviews (QPRs), and other business performance reports.
  • Support pricing initiatives, and long-range financial planning activities.
  • Assist Government leadership with the management of procurement-related business activities, including material requisition approvals, vendor coordination, invoicing issues, and accrual reviews.
  • Support internal and external audits and drive resolution of identified business, financial, or compliance issues.
  • Provide business guidance to Government leadership and ensure Program Managers are informed of significant financial risks, opportunities, and performance trends.
  • Proactively partner with the Satellite Program Office and support staff Teams to address urgent gaps and resolve challenges that impact the Program.
  • Partner with the Government Military Leader and Program Managers to strategically and tactically guide nationally-critical satellite programs through acquisition, engineering, and operational trades to achieve on-time launch and on-orbit performance.
Qualifications

TYPICAL

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Bachelors and fifteen (15) years or more of related experience;
Masters and thirteen (13) years or more experience;
PhD or JD and ten (10) years or more experience.

  • Excellent interpersonal, leadership, team building and problem-solving skills with a demonstrated ability to be effective in a government/contractor team environment.
  • Experience providing financial support and guidance in the acquisition, development, and deployment of satellite systems.
  • Ability to work in a very dynamic environment and effectively interact with numerous DOD, military/civilian personnel and industry partners.
  • Ability to communicate with a diverse audience of senior decision makers with varying levels of programmatic and technical expertise.
  • Effective communication, coordination, and customer engagement skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic, and team environment with no supervision.
  • TS/SCI required

  • Previous SAP experience desired.

Target salary range: $120,001 - $160,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
