ECS Limited offers a unique opportunity for a certified Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Senior Field Technician II to join our Chantilly team. This position provides professional development opportunities and additional incentives as you advance your skills and gain experience.
Responsibilities- Field
Activities:
perform observation, testing, sampling, and inspection of materials (soils, aggregates, concrete, grout, masonry, asphalt, structural steel) at construction sites; execute tasks based on project requirements under guidance of senior technicians and project managers. - Testing Procedures: conduct routine field tests using various methodologies and equipment following industry standards.
- Data Collection: perform calculations and data reduction based on sampling, test results, and inspections; draft documentation and prepare field reports that document site observations.
- Communication: maintain daily communication with site contractors, technicians, and project managers; keep supervisors informed of changing site conditions and testing requests; attend project meetings as needed.
- Training and Development: receive training in ECS methodology; document findings with precision in accordance with accepted engineering practices.
- Support to further enhance professional skills.
- Encourage participation in internal and external training programs and certification opportunities provided by organizations such as ACI, ASNT, AWS, ICC, NICET, NRCA, RCI, State DOTs, WACEL, and others.
- 4 years of related experience.
- High school diploma or GED.
- 2 basic certifications.
- 4 advanced certifications.
- OSHA 10 may be required.
- Must be able to carry 40–70 lbs multiple times a day or lift 85 lbs to waist height occasionally.
- Valid driver’s license and insurance.
- Suitable transportation for job sites; mileage will be reimbursed.
- Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle and follow all local and state laws, road/driving regulations, and company policies.
- Strong communication skills (speaking, reading, writing).
- Excellent understanding of heavy construction safety, practices, and procedures.
- Ability to work effectively with clients, peers, and supervisors.
- Proficiency with electronic devices such as phones, tablets, and laptops.
- Strong math skills with ability to read maps, follow directions, and interpret engineering and construction plans.
- Basic knowledge of MS Office.
