Job Description & How to Apply Below

At Compu Dynamics, we dont just build infrastructure we create the backbone of the digital future. As North Americas premier technology infrastructure design-build partner, we design, construct, and maintain mission-critical data centers for some of the worlds most innovative companies. With roots in one of the fastest-growing data center markets in the world, our growth is as intentional as our impact.

Summary/Objective:

The Field Support Technician provides general, non-technical support to project teams at active data center construction sites. This position keeps crews supplied and moving by distributing drinking water, ice, and consumables; opening and holding access to data halls and work areas for authorized personnel; moving materials to and from work locations; and maintaining continuous housekeeping. This role works under the direct supervision of the assigned Superintendent and has no responsibility for construction means and methods, scheduling, subcontractor direction, quality control, or supervision of personnel.

It is a jobsite support position and is not a construction supervisory role.

Essential Functions:

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Hydration, Consumables & Crew Support
  • Stock, replenish, and distribute drinking water, ice, cups, and electrolyte supplies to crews throughout the site, including inside data halls and on upper levels.
  • Monitor hydration stations and coolers for supply levels, cleanliness, and condition; clean and sanitize on a regular schedule.
  • Increase hydration rounds during periods of high heat or heavy physical work as directed by the Superintendent or Safety Officer.
  • Restock routine jobsite consumables such as gloves, safety glasses, ear plugs, paper goods, trash bags, batteries, and marking paint.
  • Notify the Superintendent when supply levels are low so replenishment can be ordered.
Facility Access & Personnel Assistance
  • Unlock, open, hold, and secure doors to data halls, corridors, and work areas for authorized Compu Dynamics personnel and approved vendors, as directed.
  • Walk personnel, deliveries, and materials to the correct work area within the facility.
  • Follow all client site access rules, sign-in and sign-out procedures, photography restrictions, and area limitations without exception.
  • Safeguard any keys, fobs, or access credentials issued for the assignment and report any loss immediately.
  • Refer any access question, dispute, or unfamiliar individual to the Superintendent or client site representative rather than making the determination independently.
Material Movement & Housekeeping
  • Move materials, tools, and small equipment between staging areas, laydown yards, and work locations using carts, hand trucks, or pallet jacks.
  • Receive and stage small deliveries as directed by the Superintendent and notify the Superintendent of arrivals.
  • Maintain continuous housekeeping by picking up debris, breaking down and removing packaging, emptying trash, and keeping corridors, egress paths, and data hall floors clear.
  • Set up and break down break areas, fans, temporary lighting, tents, barricades, and jobsite signage as directed.
  • Keep jobsite trailers, gang boxes, and supply areas stocked and orderly.
Safety & Compliance Support
  • Wear all required PPE and comply with client, OSHA, and Compu Dynamics safety requirements at all times.
  • Report hazards, spills, near misses, and incidents to the Superintendent and Safety Officer immediately; do not attempt to correct conditions outside the scope of this role.
  • Assist the Safety Officer with routine tasks such as distributing safety materials, setting up for toolbox talks, restocking first aid and eyewash stations, and maintaining barricades and caution tape as directed.
  • Attend all required site orientations, daily huddles, stretch and flex, and toolbox talks.
  • Support heat illness prevention by maintaining hydration and shaded break areas as directed.
Communication & Documentation
  • Take direction from and report status to the assigned Superintendent throughout the shift.
  • Complete simple logs and records such as hydration station checks, delivery receipts, and housekeeping checklists.
  • Communicate respectfully and professionally with clients, subcontractors, and site personnel, representing Compu Dynamics well in a client-controlled environment.
  • Escalate unusual conditions, requests, or conflicts promptly rather than resolving them independently.
