Position Overview

This is a part-time employee working in the school lunchroom in an elementary school.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Oversee students from entry to exit of the lunchroom.
• Assist students with condiments, opening milk cartons, dispensing napkins, etc.
• Maintain an orderly lunchroom atmosphere by encouraging good table etiquette and respecting others.
• Assist parents, relatives, or visitors entering the lunchroom.
• Arrange tables for student seating.
• Assist with cleanup after each class and at the end of lunch activities.
• Know appropriate fire exits for emergencies.
• Perform related work as required.

Qualifications

• High school graduation or equivalent education and experience that provides knowledge, abilities, and skills.
• Knowledge of student behavior and family characteristics in Loudoun County Public Schools.
• Ability to work effectively with children, supervise behavior, maintain discipline, and perform general lunchroom duties.
• Good human relations and communication skills.

Physical Requirements

The employee must regularly talk, express ideas verbally, convey detailed instructions, and possess normal cognitive abilities. Frequent sitting or remaining stationary for long periods. May exert up to 50 pounds occasionally or negligible force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull or move objects.

Reports To: Principal and/or Assistant Principal

Salary: Banded Rate, Band2
