Senior Instructor – Development & Instructional Design for the US Government.
Responsibilities- Prepare, execute, and maintain innovative learning solutions.
- Manages classroom operations, exercise materials, and assists other instructors.
- Deliver in‑person and virtual learning instructional programs.
- Use innovative instructional strategies focused on hands‑on labs and workshops.
- Utilize instructional technology.
- Conduct assessment strategy including observation, testing, and grading.
- Provide formal and informal student feedback.
- Analyze learning objectives against program requirements and gather evaluation data.
- Present status updates and topics of interest at team meetings.
- Dive deep into emerging technology content.
- Must possess a TS/SCI with poly.
- Bachelor’s Degree and at least 12 years of relevant experience or a Master’s Degree and 10 years.
- At least 5 years of proven instructional design and facilitation experience.
- Minimum of 10 years working for the Intelligence Community.
- Demonstrated experience teaching audiences of various sizes and levels both in‑person and virtually.
- Knowledge of current learning and development models, research, and theories.
- Familiarity with a range of educational technologies for synchronous, asynchronous, and self‑service teaching.
- Self‑starter capable of working independently with sound judgement.
- Knowledge of AI trends with the ability to independently research new AI tools.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Familiarity with copyright regulations and ADA 508 compliance.
- Flexibility and adaptability to shifting priorities.
- Demonstrated success managing multiple priorities with minimal supervision.
- Willingness to cross‑train and collaborate across team functions.
- Identifying performance gaps or learning needs.
- Formally documenting instructional design plans.
- Using empirical data to make instructional design decisions.
- Ensuring instructional solutions address performance gaps.
- Identifying and making improvements to instruction.
- Designing instructional strategies that engage, motivate, or are learner‑centered.
- Using face‑to‑face, online, and blended learning strategies.
- Developing project management plans for instructional design projects.
- Designing assessments of learning.
- Collaborating across functional teams.
- Software experience or knowledge.
- Track record using empirical data to inform instructional design decisions.
- Experience creating, publishing, and maintaining learning content in LMS environments.
- Competency mapping and learning needs assessment experience.
- Experience with Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, Tech Smith Camtasia, Snagit, Turning Point ARS, and instructional game software.
