About
The Role Are you ready to take on a mission-critical Systems Engineering role that supports the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) in advancing a mature Zero Trust framework? If you're passionate about securing complex systems through integrated engineering across all seven Zero Trust pillars-user, device, data, application/workload, network/environment, visibility and analytics, and automation and orchestration-this is your opportunity. As an Expert Systems Engineer, you'll deliver strategic technical guidance to help NGA reduce risk and strengthen system security.
You'll support end-to-end engineering across the National System for Geospatial-Intelligence (NSG), Allied System for Geospatial-Intelligence (ASG), and other Federal Agencies-ensuring timely and accurate GEOINT delivery. What You'll Do:
You'll lead or support multi-disciplinary engineering efforts across system lifecycle phases, including:
* Requirements Engineering
* Solutions Engineering
* Scheduling and Risk Management
* Reliability and Resiliency
* Integration, Test, and Evaluation
* Maintainability and Performance Analysis
Key Responsibilities:
* Support the Government in guiding engineering efforts across NSG, ASG, and Federal Agencies.
* Plan and analyze user requirements, architecture traceability, and system improvements-including cloud services, workflows, and automation.
* Advise on solution designs and recommend changes based on evolving requirements and emerging technologies.
* Translate mission and customer needs into technical capabilities and system requirements.
* Assist with requirements allocation to architecture components and support integration across systems.
* Lead or contribute to Analysis of Alternatives (AoAs), Course of Actions (CoAs), Trade Studies, and Engineering Assessments.
* Support strategic planning, project management, and interface design.
* Provide expert advice to help align technical vision, strategy, capability development, and future needs.
* Operate at an enterprise level-integrating multiple major systems acquisitions across agencies and national boundaries.
* Leverage in-depth knowledge of the NSG/ASG and NRO enterprise environments.

Skills and Experience:
Required:
* Master's degree in Systems Engineering or in related technical or scientific fields such as engineering, physics, mathematics, operations research, engineering management, Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or related STEM degree program, or 18 years of experience as a Systems Engineer in lieu of degree.
* 18 years of working experience in government or industry in relevant work areas including:
DoD/IC Acquisition Process, Requirements Process, PPBES Process or system engineering of large complex System of Systems or Service Oriented Architecture/Cloud environments.
* Extensive work experience in the field of geospatial intelligence.
* Experience engineering solutions using Cloud Based Technology such as:
Service Orientated Architecture (SOA), On-demand self-service, Broad network access, Resource pooling, Rapid elasticity, Measured Service, Software as a Service (SaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), and Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS).
* Experience engineering solutions using Automation, Augmentation and Artificial Intelligence technologies.
* Experience with and strong understanding of systems engineering lifecycle.
