Overview
A Systems Engineer will support the Maryland Procurement Office with systems engineering functions, including design, development, testing, deployment, operations, and decommissioning.
Responsibilities- Define, document, and maintain Concepts of Operations (CONOPS), operational requirements, system requirements, and use cases to support system development
- Perform high‑level system design, including specification of system and component performance requirements and interface definitions
- Develop and support installation, integration, and acceptance test plans
- Continuously assess existing organizational processes and engineering work products to ensure alignment with strategic and tactical objectives
- Coordinate with customers, project teams, and related organizations to ensure delivered solutions satisfy mission and technical requirements
- Define and communicate a shared technical and architectural vision for solutions developed by product and engineering teams
- Support systems engineering activities across the full system lifecycle, including design, development, testing, deployment, operations, maintenance, and decommissioning
- Provide technical input to planning, risk management, and engineering decision‑making activities
- Prepare and support technical documentation, reviews, and briefings for stakeholders
- ABET‑accredited Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering plus 7 years relevant experience
- Master’s Degree in Engineering plus 5 years relevant experience
- Doctoral Degree in Engineering or a relevant technical field (e.g., computer science, mathematics, physics) plus 3 years relevant experience
- Active Top Secret/SCI clearance required
- Full‑Scope Polygraph required
