Overview

SAIC is seeking a Mission Systems Engineer with NRO experience to provide Modeling and Simulation (M&S) and Systems Engineering and Technical Advisory (SETA) services to a rapidly expanding Government Intelligence Community (IC) customer. This position supports a System Program Office (SPO) in a technical capacity for planning, execution, monitoring, and oversight of system development and acquisitions that advance the NRO's space resiliency posture.

The Mission Systems Engineer will work in a collaborative team environment supporting systems engineering, mission analysis, and transition activities to address some of the space community’s most challenging problems.

Responsibilities
  • Perform analysis and evaluations of systems and track resulting metrics.
  • Study and analyze a wide variety of interesting and complex problems.
  • Assess relevant current and future technologies for insertion.
  • Evaluate enterprise verification and validation testing.
  • Review and analyze discrepancy reports.
  • Assess labor, schedules, and resources required for integrating, testing, validating and transitioning systems.
  • Capture and document lessons learned and best practices.
  • Position periodically requires non-nominal work hours to support customer needs.
  • Possible travel, depends on the specific need for customer supported.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Systems, Aeronautical, Mechanical, Test engineering, or a scientific/technical discipline with at least 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in engineering analysis (collecting, organizing, analyzing data) and/or mission/ops/ground support experience.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph.
  • Effective communication, coordination, and customer engagement skills.
  • Strong written and interpersonal skills.
  • Modeling and simulation experience using one or more of the following desired skills: C++, Python, R, SQL, Postgre

    SQL, Linux, MATLAB, VBA, or STK.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic, and team environment – along with initiative to take on independent projects.
