OverviewSAIC is seeking a Mission Systems Engineer with NRO experience to provide Modeling and Simulation (M&S) and Systems Engineering and Technical Advisory (SETA) services to a rapidly expanding Government Intelligence Community (IC) customer. This position supports a System Program Office (SPO) in a technical capacity for planning, execution, monitoring, and oversight of system development and acquisitions that advance the NRO's space resiliency posture.
The Mission Systems Engineer will work in a collaborative team environment supporting systems engineering, mission analysis, and transition activities to address some of the space community’s most challenging problems.
- Perform analysis and evaluations of systems and track resulting metrics.
- Study and analyze a wide variety of interesting and complex problems.
- Assess relevant current and future technologies for insertion.
- Evaluate enterprise verification and validation testing.
- Review and analyze discrepancy reports.
- Assess labor, schedules, and resources required for integrating, testing, validating and transitioning systems.
- Capture and document lessons learned and best practices.
- Position periodically requires non-nominal work hours to support customer needs.
- Possible travel, depends on the specific need for customer supported.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Systems, Aeronautical, Mechanical, Test engineering, or a scientific/technical discipline with at least 5 years of relevant experience.
- Experience in engineering analysis (collecting, organizing, analyzing data) and/or mission/ops/ground support experience.
- Active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph.
- Effective communication, coordination, and customer engagement skills.
- Strong written and interpersonal skills.
- Modeling and simulation experience using one or more of the following desired skills: C++, Python, R, SQL, Postgre
SQL, Linux, MATLAB, VBA, or STK. - Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic, and team environment – along with initiative to take on independent projects.
