Position Description & Qualifications

If you are passionate about supporting the U.S. Navy with impactful projects, we have an exciting opportunity for you! Join Serco as a Navy Missile Production Specialist and play a crucial role in overseeing the production of advanced weapon systems that protect our ships and sailors. You will collaborate with an integrated team of government and industry experts in Arlington, VA, providing your technical expertise to manage production materials and processes.

As part of a defense acquisition program management office, you will be involved in the development, acquisition, production, and lifetime support of surface ship missile systems in this mid-to-senior-level role that encompasses production management, systems engineering, and much more.

This position is contingent upon your ability to maintain and transfer your DoD Secret level Clearance.

In this role, you will:
  • Support missile production, systems engineering, and financial management.

  • Monitor missile production issues, risks, materials, and processes.

  • Assist the Production Director in providing technical oversight on missile production.

  • Develop risk mitigation strategies and identify gaps in production requirements.

  • Work with the acquisition and financial teams to prepare budgets and presentations for officials.

  • Coordinate with Assistant Program Managers on missile spending plans, ensuring alignment with funding requirements.

  • Collaborate with missile OEMs to address technical and budget challenges impacting production.

  • Assist with Test & Evaluation activities, including test planning, execution, and performance assessments.

  • Support and help integrate new missile systems into ship classes and combat systems.

  • Provide meeting support, including agenda creation, presentation development, and note-taking.

  • Utilize Microsoft Office skills, particularly in PowerPoint, Excel, and Word, and be open to learning new software.

  • Perform additional duties as required.

To succeed in this role, you will need:
  • An active DoD Secret security clearance.

  • U.S. Citizenship.

  • A Bachelor’s Degree with at least 5 years of relevant experience in Defense Acquisition or related fields; or a Master’s Degree with a minimum of 3 years of experience.

  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.

  • Experience with collaborative tools like SharePoint and Teams, and familiarity with data visualization tools.

  • A willingness to travel up to 25% of the time.

Additional preferred qualifications include:
  • A Bachelor's degree in a technical or STEM discipline.

  • Eligibility for or a previous TS Clearance.

  • Experience with Naval missile systems or production processes.
