The Advanced Research and Engineering (AR&E) Sub‑Division is seeking an innovative and proactive Advanced Research Studies Lead (Senior Project Engineer – Multi‑Disciplinary Engineering) to tackle some of the nation's most critical and complex challenges in Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) and R&D ground architectures.
Full‑time position based in Chantilly; requires 100% onsite work and domestic travel up to approximately 10% of time.
Responsibilities- Coordinating diverse studies ranging across phenomenologies and technologies, breaking down complex questions into manageable components to deliver data‑driven results to address the nation’s hardest problems.
- Engaging Aerospace’s premier analysis, simulation, and laboratory resources across the Engineering and Technology Group (ETG) matrix and consolidating assessments from Subject Matter Experts into cohesive, impactful, and actionable findings for the customer.
- Interacting frequently with government, SETA, and contractor personnel as part of a small team in a fast‑paced environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in science, engineering, mathematics, or a related technical field.
- 10 years of relevant experience in space systems.
- Experience in technical project management, scoping projects, and leveraging inter‑disciplinary teams.
- Demonstrated expertise in cutting‑edge technology applicable to remote sensing, communications, or computation as applied to space systems.
- Experience in Geospatial intelligence (GEOINT) or signals intelligence (SIGINT) technologies.
- Ability to be proactive, think strategically, and anticipate needs.
- Current and active TS/SCI security clearance and polygraph issued by the U.S. government.
- U.S. citizenship is required.
- Advanced degree in science, engineering, mathematics, or a related technical field.
- Direct experience with government or commercial space systems.
- Experience in AI/ML applications and implementation, high‑performance computing, optics & photonics, position, navigation, and timing (PNT) technologies, prototyping, Cube Sats.
