OverviewOMNI is seeking a Satellite Systems Engineer to provide Systems Engineering and Technical Assistance (SETA) support for a high‑visibility national security space program. The selected candidate will support Government program office activities involving the development, integration, and oversight of advanced satellite systems throughout the system lifecycle. The candidate must possess a strong foundation in systems engineering principles, experience supporting satellite development programs, and the ability to collaborate effectively with Government, contractor, and SETA teams in a dynamic acquisition environment.
Key Responsibilities- Serve as a member of the Government Program Office technical team supporting the development and integration of satellite systems, including spacecraft bus, payload, and ground segment elements.
- Serve as an embedded representative supporting contractor systems engineering activities and providing technical insight to Government stakeholders.
- Support the translation of mission needs and operational requirements into detailed technical specifications and system requirements.
- Assist with interface definition, management, and coordination across multiple system elements and stakeholders.
- Support the development, review, and assessment of Model‑Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) products and system models.
- Provide technical oversight of contractor activities to ensure compliance with program requirements, interface specifications, and engineering standards.
- Support system integration, verification, validation, and test activities, including requirements verification and environmental testing; collaborate with Government and contractor teams to support concept development, requirements definition, technical planning, and system implementation activities.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to support successful system integration and mission execution.
- Participate in technical reviews, engineering assessments, and milestone events, evaluating contractor performance and technical deliverables; identify technical risks, support risk assessments, evaluate mitigation strategies, and monitor impacts to program objectives and schedules.
- Prepare technical briefings, engineering assessments, status reports, and decision‑support materials for Government leadership.
- Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or a related STEM discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor’s degree, or 3 years of relevant experience with a Master’s degree.
- Minimum of 4 years supporting Government or commercial satellite programs.
- Experience supporting systems engineering activities throughout the system development lifecycle.
- Experience with requirements development, requirements traceability, interface management, and systems integration activities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to brief technical and non‑technical audiences.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across multiple organizations, technical disciplines, and stakeholder groups.
- Willingness to travel periodically to contractor and customer locations as required.
- Ability to operate effectively in a fast‑paced, mission‑focused environment with minimal supervision.
- Active TS/SCI clearance required;
Polygraph preferred. - U.S. Citizenship required.
- Experience supporting Intelligence Community (IC), Space Force, DoD, or other national security space programs.
- Experience supporting Government Program Offices or SETA organizations.
- Knowledge of satellite subsystems, including ADCS, power, propulsion, communications, thermal, and command and data handling functions; experience supporting system integration and test activities, verification and validation efforts, and technical review boards.
- Experience implementing MBSE methodologies using SysML and tools such as Cameo.
- Familiarity with spacecraft development, acquisition, launch preparation, and mission operations environments.
