Overview
CAD Technician – K ’s National Security Solutions team. In this position, your work will have a profound impact on the country’s most critical role – protecting our national security.
Responsibilities- Prepare detailed drawings and tracings using CAD commands and data entry methods specific to the system in use.
- Operate plotters and other output devices to generate hard copies of drawing files.
- Engage in design preparation activities including PC board path layout, internal and external packaging, and control panel layouts.
- Maintain CAD files, ensuring they are properly managed, updated, and stored per company guidelines.
- Collaborate with engineers to understand requirements and specifications.
- Apply changes and revisions to designs as directed by engineers or supervisors, ensuring accurate updates in CAD drawings.
- Adhere to guidelines and instructions provided by supervisors to meet technical and design standards.
- Check and verify accuracy and completeness of drawings and specifications before submission.
- Stay updated with latest CAD technologies and software updates to improve efficiency and quality.
- Report progress and issues to supervising staff to ensure project timelines and quality standards are met.
- U.S. citizen or Australian citizen.
- Minimum of a BA/BS from an accredited institution.
- 5+ years of technical drafting/design training from an accredited technical school or military training and 4 years prior drafting experience.
- Experience managing similar U.S. Government projects of similar size, scope and complexity.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD and Revit.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment with excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Physical and mental capability to perform required tasks and meet job demands.
- Must possess an active US Top Secret/SCI with Polygraph or AUS PV Security Clearance.
This role will be located in Alice Springs, at a 4,400‑acre facility with approximately 687,000 square feet of mission and support space. This position is expected to be onsite 100%. The position is contingent upon contract award.
