Spectric Labs is looking for a motivated Financial Analyst to support our growing government contracting business. This role is ideal for an early-career professional who is eager to build a strong foundation in accounting and finance, take ownership of core financial processes, and grow into more advanced program control and corporate accounting responsibilities over time. The position is based in Chantilly, Virginia, and works closely with company leadership and reports directly to the CFO.
Role Overview
The Financial Analyst will be responsible for day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bookkeeping, and basic financial reporting. Over time, this individual will have the opportunity to expand into higher-level responsibilities, including program financial management, pricing, and compliance reporting. We are looking for someone who is detail-oriented, reliable, and ambitious, with a strong interest in growing their career in finance within a small, fast-moving company.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage and process sales, accounts receivable, and accounts payable
• Oversee all bookkeeping functions for the company using Quick Books Online accounting software
• Prepare budget documentation, spend plans, and financial status reports
• Develop and maintain program budgets, spend plans, and estimates at completion
• Support internal financial tracking, reporting, and audits as needed
• Work closely with leadership to ensure financial data is accurate, timely, and actionable
Growth and Future Responsibilities
• Program financial management and contract support
• Participation in pricing exercises and development of cost estimates
• Budgeting and rate analysis
• Payroll and timesheet administration
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field
• 0 to 5 years of professional experience in finance, accounting, or related roles
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Ability to manage repetitive, process-driven tasks with accuracy and attention to detail
• Strong analytical, research, and technical accounting skills
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of responsibilities
• Ability to obtain a government security clearance (US Citizen, clear criminal record, No Recent illegal drug use, etc.) or holds an active Top Secret with SCI eligibility
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with Quick Books Online
• Exposure to government contracting, program finance, or cost accounting is preferred
