Job DescriptionCGI Federal is seeking candidates for the position of Finance Resources Generalist to support a U.S. Government agency in the Washington Metropolitan Area (WMA). Successful candidates will perform routine and moderately complex financial activities across accounts payable, payroll, travel, vendor payments, debt collection, banking, budgeting, and other financial operations. The position is located in Chantilly, VA.
Responsibilities- Perform a wide range of routine to moderately complex financial activities and analysis to support management, staff, and customers.
- Prepare accountings for certification in support of services such as debt collection, vendor payments, accounting operations, banking, finance, budget offices, travel, Working Capital Fund businesses, payroll, and benefits.
- Monitor funding streams for incoming and outgoing money related to services.
- Reconcile general ledger accounts, bank accounts, financial systems, and sub-systems; take corrective action as needed.
- Review and analyze various general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy.
- Establish commitments and obligations, revalidate them periodically, and remove obsolete commitments in accordance with agency guidelines.
- Originate financial data and post into unique databases and systems; ensure data integrity.
- Adhere to federal government requirements and agency standards of financial record keeping.
- Process travel and miscellaneous reimbursements in a timely manner.
- Provide general, financial, and technical guidance to customers on routine to moderately complex matters.
- Offer guidance to managers, junior analysts, and team members on financial practices and data integrity across systems.
- Clear accounting suspensions and refer complex issues to senior officers.
- Monitor daily electronic communications and respond to routine queries; refer complex queries to senior officers.
- Research finance regulations and data within systems to resolve standard problems.
- Act as first level of review for policy interpretation issues involving customers.
- Assist managers in developing specific financial policies and/or procedures.
- Provide functional expertise to system development, create ad-hoc reports, and conduct functional testing.
- Act as liaison between developers and users to resolve routine problems and reconcile issues.
- Support users of financial systems, resolve user issues, and communicate system changes.
- Assist in developing system training materials and responding to user queries.
- Analyze and test interfaces with accounting systems to ensure data integrity.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role is $89,600.00 - $.

- Ability to obtain and apply basic knowledge of the agency’s finance regulations, policies, and unique authorities.
- Knowledge of the agency’s procedures and policies specific to the area of assignment.
- Knowledge of the agency’s automated financial and acquisitions systems.
- Basic knowledge of quality assurance procedures for data integrity.
- Oral and written communication skills sufficient to compose clear responses.
- Ability to interact with customers, resolve routine problems, and adapt to changing priorities.
- Clearance: A Top Secret clearance with polygraph.
- Experience:
Minimum 2 years of professional experience performing financial records processing and management. - Education:
An associate’s degree in finance, business administration, or a closely related field; or 4 years of relevant experience.
