Role

Under general supervision, but following established policies and procedures, performs a broad range of member service activities in person, by mail, and/or by telephone. Answers questions concerning services provided by the credit union from members and staff. Must possess excellent interpersonal communication skills and the ability to represent the credit union in a courteous, professional manner. Performs duties in accordance with the Apple Way principles of Team Up, Serve with Purpose, Challenge Yourself and Own It.

Remains cognizant of and adheres to credit union policies and procedures, and regulations pertaining to the Bank Secrecy Act. Performs other member services and clerical duties as assigned by the Branch Manager, including basic loan transactions.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities
  • Represent the credit union to members in person, by mail, or by telephone in a courteous, professional manner and provide prompt, efficient, and accurate service in processing all transactions such as deposits, withdrawals, opening new checking/savings accounts, direct deposits, IRA’s, ATM cards and loan rates.
  • Receive loan payments, checks and cash for deposit into members’ savings and/or checking accounts, verify amounts, examine checks for proper endorsement and negotiability and input information into the computer system. Process mail transactions, reply to member correspondence regarding transactions affecting their accounts.
  • Provide basic account information on loans and shares products or existing accounts as needed.
  • Under direction of branch management, contact members regarding deposit accounts, loan applications, and other products as directed. May process consumer loan applications as directed by manager.
  • Input comments and record member activity in the Synapsys MRM as needed.
  • Identify opportunities for cross‑selling and offer potential sales opportunities (PSO’s) as presented in Synapsys and refer members accordingly.
  • Learn credit union products and services and be able to cross‑sell them to members.
  • Process member requests for share withdrawals.
  • May disburse loan and share withdrawal checks. Follow up on work left at desk by members.

Knowledge and Skills

Experience: Minimum 24 months financial institution experience. Previous teller or customer service experience preferred.

Education: High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
