Records Management Specialist
Records Management Specialist responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining an effective records and information management program in compliance with federal laws, regulations, and agency policies, ensuring proper creation, maintenance, use, and disposition of records throughout their lifecycle, including electronic and paper formats.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and maintain records management policies, procedures, and schedules in accordance with the Federal Records Act and NARA guidelines.
- Conduct records inventories and appraisals; identify records requiring retention or disposition.
- Coordinate with program office to implement retention schedules and ensure compliance.
- Manage electronic records systems, apply retention labels, and monitor disposition.
- Provide guidance and training to staff on records management practices and legal requirements.
- Monitor compliance through audits and reporting; recommend corrective actions as needed.
- Maintain quality control measures to ensure installations and repairs meet or exceed set standards.
- Facilitate clear and consistent communication within the team and with project stakeholders to keep everyone informed and aligned on project goals and updates.
- Must be a US or Australian Citizen.
- Must possess a US TS/SCI with Counterintelligence Polygraph or AUS PV Clearance.
- Associate’s degree in Information Science, Library Science, Public Administration, or related field preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in managing a technical library or similar resources.
- Strong organizational and IT skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail to ensure high-quality service delivery and compliance with safety standards.
- Adaptability to changing conditions, technologies, and requirements.
- Strong decision-making skills to resolve issues quickly and effectively under pressure.
This role will be located in Alice Springs. It is expected to be onsite 100% and contingent upon contract award.
