Inova Compounding Pharmacy is seeking a dedicated Clinical Infusion Pharmacist
-to join the team. This role will be full-time day shift (Monday - Friday) weekend as needed.

Job Responsibilities:
- Prepare and compound customized medications - including creams, capsules, suspensions, and sterile preparations - according to physician prescriptions and established formulas.
- Select, measure, and mix pharmaceutical ingredients using specialized equipment such as balances, ointment mills, and encapsulation machines.
- Maintain strict quality control by following USP and guidelines, ensuring all compounded products meet regulatory and safety standards.
- Document all compounding activities accurately in compliance with state board of pharmacy requirements and company SOPs.
- Interprets, prepares, and verifies medication orders as appropriate.
- Provides clinical consultation and cost-effective alternatives.
- Issues controlled substances in compliance according to the DEA and VA Board of Pharmacy requirements.
- Participates in the medication formulary review and approval process.
- Monitors drug therapies for interactions, allergies, and appropriateness.
- Reports adverse drug reactions promptly and accurately.
- Minimizes non-formulary procurement and supports substitutions.
- Supervises pharmacy support staff.
- Participates in continuous quality improvement.
- May perform additional duties as assigned, including, but not limited to:
Participating in decentralized rounding with clinical teams.
Responding to emergent bedside alerts and codes (adult and pediatric as designated).
Precepting learners as appropriate.
- Education:Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or bachelor's degree in pharmacy.
- Licensed Pharmacist in the state of VA.
- Certification:Basic Life Support (BLS) within 90 days of hire.
- Experience: One (1) year experience in compounding and or specialty as a Clinical Pharmacist.
