Caregiver Job Description
Assisting Hands Home Care is seeking compassionate, dependable, and dedicated CNA, HHA, and PCA Caregivers to join our team. In this role, you’ll provide personalized in-home support that helps clients maintain their independence, dignity, safety, and quality of life in the comfort of their own homes.
As a caregiver, you’ll develop meaningful relationships with clients while assisting with personal care, mobility, companionship, and daily living activities. We’re looking for caring professionals who are patient, reliable, and committed to making a positive difference in the lives of seniors and individuals who need additional support.
Responsibilities:
- Provide compassionate assistance with personal care, including bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting.
- Assist clients with transfers, mobility, positioning, and other activities of daily living.
- Support clients with daily routines while promoting independence, dignity, and safety.
- Provide companionship and encourage meaningful social engagement and activities.
- Assist with dementia care using patience, compassion, and respectful communication.
- Prepare meals and perform light housekeeping duties as needed.
- Provide medication reminders and maintain accurate care documentation.
- Follow individualized care plans, company policies, and established safety procedures.
- Monitor clients for changes in physical, emotional, or behavioral condition and report concerns promptly.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for clients.
- Communicate professionally with clients, families, caregivers, and the office team.
- Build positive and trusting relationships with clients and their families.
- Perform other caregiving duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Active Virginia CNA, HHA, or PCA certification.
- Previous experience in personal care, dementia care, or mobility assistance preferred.
- Current CPR certification.
- Negative TB screening as required.
- Ability to successfully pass a background check.
- Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and current auto insurance.
- Ability to lift at least 25 pounds and safely assist clients with transfers.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Compassionate, patient, dependable, and respectful approach to client care.
- Ability to work independently while following care plans and company guidelines.
- Availability for flexible part-time or full-time schedules, including weekday and weekend shifts.
