Caregiver Job Description

Assisting Hands Home Care is seeking compassionate, dependable, and dedicated CNA, HHA, and PCA Caregivers to join our team. In this role, you’ll provide personalized in-home support that helps clients maintain their independence, dignity, safety, and quality of life in the comfort of their own homes.

As a caregiver, you’ll develop meaningful relationships with clients while assisting with personal care, mobility, companionship, and daily living activities. We’re looking for caring professionals who are patient, reliable, and committed to making a positive difference in the lives of seniors and individuals who need additional support.

Responsibilities:

• Provide compassionate assistance with personal care, including bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting.
• Assist clients with transfers, mobility, positioning, and other activities of daily living.
• Support clients with daily routines while promoting independence, dignity, and safety.
• Provide companionship and encourage meaningful social engagement and activities.
• Assist with dementia care using patience, compassion, and respectful communication.
• Prepare meals and perform light housekeeping duties as needed.
• Provide medication reminders and maintain accurate care documentation.
• Follow individualized care plans, company policies, and established safety procedures.
• Monitor clients for changes in physical, emotional, or behavioral condition and report concerns promptly.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for clients.
• Communicate professionally with clients, families, caregivers, and the office team.
• Build positive and trusting relationships with clients and their families.
• Perform other caregiving duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Active Virginia CNA, HHA, or PCA certification.
• Previous experience in personal care, dementia care, or mobility assistance preferred.
• Current CPR certification.
• Negative TB screening as required.
• Ability to successfully pass a background check.
• Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and current auto insurance.
• Ability to lift at least 25 pounds and safely assist clients with transfers.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Compassionate, patient, dependable, and respectful approach to client care.
• Ability to work independently while following care plans and company guidelines.
• Availability for flexible part-time or full-time schedules, including weekday and weekend shifts.
