Together, we’re improving health and improving lives. Labcorp is seeking a Specimen Processing Supervisor to join our team in Chantilly, VA.

Work Schedule:

Monday - Friday 5:00pm - 1:30am

Job Responsibilities:
  • Supervise the day-to-day operations of the Accessioning department
  • Assist with preparation of laboratory specimens for analysis and testing
  • Directly supervise, train, and mentor non-technical personnel of the department
  • Monitor daily workflow in the lab and schedule adequate coverage
  • Responsible for ensuring all shifts in the department are properly staffed
  • Research and resolve any production errors while escalating when necessary
  • Engage in continuous process and service level improvements
  • Perform quality assurance checks to ensure efficiency and accuracy
  • Prepare and maintain Quality Assurance records and documents
  • Meet regularly with direct reports to provide coaching and feedback for their development
  • Responsible for administering and managing policies and procedures
  • Process and maintain payroll and personnel files
  • Perform administrative duties as needed
Minimum Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or equivalent 2 years’ or more of relevant experience in clinical laboratory environment
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Associates degree 1 year or more supervisory or leadership experience
  • 1 year or more of prior distribution experience
Additional Job Standards:
  • Strong computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Excellent communication skills; both written and verbal
  • Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
  • High level of attention to detail with strong organizational and prioritization skills
  • Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to make decisions in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to handle the physical requirements of the position
  • Familiarity with laboratory operations as well as policies and procedures
Pay Range:

$50,000 - $75,000 All job offers will be based on a candidate’s skills and prior relevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, as well as internal equity and market data.

  • Employees regularly scheduled to work less than 20 hours, Casual, Intern, and Temporary employees are only eligible to participate in the 401(k) Plan.
  • Employees who are regularly scheduled to work a 7 on/7 off schedule are eligible to receive all the foregoing benefits except PTO or FTO.
