ServiceNow Software Designer II

Job Overview

A&M Technologies, Inc. has an opening for an NMS Service Now Software Designer to support a key program in the National Security business segment. The NMS IT Software Designer will provide expert knowledge of network management systems, operating systems, commercial software, government software, and full integration of toolsets and servers.

• Position requires office presence at least 5 days per week, located in the stated location(s).
• Deploy, administer, develop, and integrate the Service Now suite on RHEL and Windows; collaborate with database developers on Maria
  
  DB connectivity, schema, and performance requirements.
• Work within Agile/Scrum and SDLC processes to plan, build, test, and deliver Service Now features; participate in stand‑ups, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
• Collaborate with Project Managers and Technical Leads to communicate status, risks, and technical challenges; provide estimates and technical inputs.
• Design and implement integrations between Service Now, Cisco Network Services Orchestrator (NSO), GOTS, and other enterprise tools using REST/SOAP APIs, Integration Hub, and MID Server.
• Create and maintain technical documentation (design specs, runbooks, user guides) and support user handoff training when required.
• Monitor application performance and availability; build dashboards/alerts and proactively remediate issues.
• Implement security hardening and compliance controls; support RMF authorization and accreditation (A&A) by producing artifacts, remediating findings, and applying DISA STIG/SCAP benchmarks.
• Support the automation of Service Now deployments and related tasks through scripts using Ansible, Python, Terraform, and Power Shell.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex system and service issues; perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and implement corrective actions.
• Conduct system performance analysis and tuning to optimize configurations and throughput.
• Execute engineering tasks across the SDLC, adhering to change/release processes and delivering within scope and schedule.
• Package and deliver well‑engineered solutions for Operations to deploy to production with minimal manual steps and a high success rate.
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support evolving business and technical requirements.

• TS SCI CI Poly clearance and compliance with DoD 8140 Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level 2.
• At least 10 years of combined work history and education, equivalent to the stated levels (e.g., bachelor's + 6 years). Must have at least 1 year of relevant Service Now experience.
• Diverse experience within concept, design, engineering, production, and sustainment phases of Service Now system development lifecycle.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum or general SDLC and ability to work independently with local and geographically diverse teams.
• Strong analytic, communication, and organizational skills; able to handle complex technical tasks with minimal supervision.
• Active knowledge of Service Now or other ITSM platforms and Microsoft Office suite.

• Service Now Certified System Administrator certification.
• Cross‑platform and integration experience (Windows, Linux, Android, Juniper, Cisco).
• Experience developing and scripting within Service Now using JavaScript; integration using Java, Python, Perl, or Power Shell.
• Database experience including Maria
