Dev Ops Engineer (TS/SCI with Polygraph)

Location:

On-Site in Chantilly, VA | 24/7 Mission Environment Required Clearance:
Active TS/SCI with Polygraph Evans & Chambers Technology (EC)

Evans & Chambers Technology is seeking a senior Dev Ops Engineer to support a large-scale (200+ FTE) technical development program delivering modern Identity, Credential, and Access Management (ICAM) solutions within a classified environment. This is not a maintenance role. This is a build‑and‑modernize role. You will help architect, automate, deploy, and sustain secure cloud‑native infrastructure supporting mission‑critical systems operating 24/7/365. You’ll work within an Agile Dev Sec Ops  framework and play a key role across the full software development lifecycle—from architecture and design through deployment and operational support.

This position includes participation in an on‑call rotation (approximately one full week every two months) to ensure operational continuity of privileged systems.

What You’ll Do Engineering & Automation
  • Lead and contribute to software programming initiatives supporting system modernization and innovation
  • Design, prototype, and deploy secure cloud‑native solutions in commercial cloud environments
  • Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions to automate provisioning and deployment
  • Develop scripts and tooling to automate infrastructure and application delivery workflows
  • Support containerization initiatives and transition toward modern container‑based architectures
Dev Ops & CI/CD
  • Establish, optimize, and maintain CI/CD pipelines
  • Improve existing Dev Ops processes and tool chains to increase velocity and reliability
  • Deploy build artifacts across multiple environments using Git Flow constructs
  • Administer and optimize Dev Ops tooling (Jenkins, Git Hub, Rundeck, Nexus)
Cloud & Infrastructure
  • Implement and manage AWS services (Cloud Formation, EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, etc.)
  • Perform Linux system administration and privileged access duties
  • Support container orchestration and scaling in production (Docker, Kubernetes, EKS/ECS)
  • Ensure container registry security and Dev Sec Ops  best practices
Collaboration & Delivery
  • Partner with Product Owners, Scrum Masters, and development teams to ensure user story alignment
  • Contribute to scope definition, estimation, architecture, and unit testing
  • Communicate technical insights clearly to both engineering and leadership stakeholders
  • Strengthen team cohesion and execution discipline across the program
Required Qualifications
  • Active TS/SCI with Polygraph
  • BA/BS degree with 11-15 years of relevant experience (or equivalent experience)
  • Expert‑level Linux systems knowledge
  • Advanced experience with:
    Jenkins, Git Hub, Rundeck, Nexus
  • Deep understanding of the full software development lifecycle in a Dev Ops environment
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and development tempo
  • Proficiency with Bash, Puppet, YAML, JSON
  • Strong AWS experience including Cloud Formation, EC2, S3, RDS, and VPC
  • Experience with container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, EKS, ECS)
  • Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines in production
  • Experience with version control and issue tracking systems (JIRA, Confluence)
  • Experience using automated testing tools (e.g., JUnit)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with Elastic Stack tools
  • Experience working in classified cloud environments
  • Experience supporting formal release management processes
  • AWS Certification
  • Container or Kubernetes certifications, including Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD)
Why Evans & Chambers Technology?

At EC, we build secure, scalable systems that support national security missions. We operate where compliance, performance, and reliability matter—and where engineering excellence is non‑negotiable.

You’ll Be Joining a Team That Values
  • Ownership over tickets
  • Engineering rigor over shortcuts
  • Mission success over ego
  • Continuous modernization over status‑quo maintenance
