As a Solutions Architect at Amentum, you will operate at the forefront of innovation and mission delivery , designing technology-driven solutions in response to complex government and commercial solicitations. This role focuses on integrating AI technologies, digital modernization , and workflow automation into proposals, directly impacting proposal win rates and ensuring operational excellence. Collaborating with Capture Management, Business Development, and Technical Writing teams, you will articulate customer-focused, compliant, and executable solutions .
Reporting to the Director of Integrated Solutions, this position is part of Amentum’s Missions Solutions Business Development Group and supports a robust pipeline of Federal and Commercial opportunities. This hybrid position provides the flexibility to work remotely, while maintaining the ability to support customers worldwide.
Responsibilities
Technical Solution Development
Lead Technical Solutioning: Architect end-to-end solutions addressing customer challenges, integrating AI, predictive analytics , and emerging technologies to achieve operational efficiencies and measurable outcomes.
Develop Proposal-Ready Artifacts: Collaborate with capture teams and business development to create compliant and compelling proposal content , including technical volumes, diagrams, and solution roadmaps.
Customer Engagement: Support customer briefings, industry events , and oral presentations , highlighting Amentum’s innovation leadership and technical solution differentiation.
Emerging Technology Integration: Embed cutting-edge technologies such as AI/ML platforms, predictive analytics, digital twin , and other AI-enabled automation tools into scalable, repeatable service offerings.
Competitive Differentiation: Conduct competitive analysis and leverage field intelligence to develop scorable win strategies , technical discriminators, and “ghosting” narratives that differentiate Amentum.
Capability Gap Analysis: Identify pain points in customer processes; translate insights into scalable solutions that address gaps and align with strategy and evaluation criteria .
Cross-Functional Leadership
Partner with Capture Managers to refine win themes , solution differentiators, and customer “hot button” narratives for high-value pursuits.
Collaborate with Technical Writers and pricing/estimating teams to ensure technical content reflects customer priorities and complies with solicitation requirements.
Contribute to gate reviews, color reviews (Blue, Pink, and Red) , and capture briefings, ensuring solutions meet customer scoring metrics and evaluation priorities.
Strategic Contributions
Support teaming and ecosystem strategy , providing input into technology and vendor partnerships to expand solution capabilities.
Drive alignment on Amentum’s FY26 proposal strategy goals , including improved win rates, shorter proposal cycle times, and repeatable solutions through technical differentiation.
Qualifications
Experience:
10+ years in solution architecture, pre-sales engineering, or technical design within government or commercial markets.
Expertise in developing AI-enabled solutions , applying tools/platforms such as Microsoft Foundry, OpenAI API Platform , Sage Maker , Vertex AI or Tensor Flow .
Experience supporting complex proposals valued at over $500 million, with familiarity in producing technical volumes, diagrams, and customer-facing deliverables.
Proven ability to work in cross-functional capture teams , shaping solution narratives and focus areas to best align with customer missions and acquisition strategies.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Technology Management , or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience supporting Department of War enterprise or other major COCOMs in operational or technical role.
Retired military officer with ability to interface with highest levels of Department of War is highly preferred.
Familiarity with government acquisition frameworks (FAR/DFARS) and proposal best practices (e.g., Shipley Methodology) .
Certifications in AI-enabled systems, cloud architecture (AWS/Azure), and PMP…
