Freedom Technology Solutions Group is seeking a Network Engineer to provide Sponsor Support located in WMA. The successful candidate will be a self‑motivated, independent worker who can also work in and contribute to a team environment. The Sponsor requires the contractor to deliver tradecraft guidance and technical and network solutions to meet the Sponsor’s online operational objectives.
Responsibilities- Understand network architecture diagrams and related information
- Configure and use Virtual Private Servers, Virtual Private Networks, and Virtual Private Clouds
- Work with virtual environments and emulated mobile devices
- Apply knowledge of the Android operating system, including security settings
- Identify domestic and foreign social media and security implications associated with utilizing social media sites
- Configure commercial messaging applications and their security settings
- Perform technical analysis on networks and applications to evaluate security and applicability to online operations
- Conduct technical troubleshooting related to networks, hardware, internet services, and mobile applications
- Define, analyze, track, and review requirements
- Consult with customers to determine present and future user requirements
- Communicate complex technical topics to non‑technical individuals
- Work within commercial cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Azure, or similar)
- Utilize network monitoring tools
- Apply knowledge of network fundamentals, TCP/IP routing, switching, firewalls, VPNs, Ethernet, DS1, T1, routing concepts, and protocols, HSRP, VRRP, DHCP, 802.1Q, STP, VLANs, Ether Channel, IP addressing, subnetting, and VPN
- Use Tor to obfuscate online activities
- Keep current with internet technologies and services and understand their applicability and security implications for the Sponsor’s operations
- Research, develop, maintain, and document tradecraft and tools associated with the Sponsor’s online operations
- Conduct and provide quick‑turn security and product assessments for new technologies used on the Sponsor’s network
- Active security clearance
- Degree in information technology or demonstrated work experience in an information technology position
- Experience with networks, including understanding network architecture diagrams
- Experience configuring and using Virtual Private Servers, Virtual Private Networks, and Virtual Private Clouds
- Experience with virtual environments and emulated mobile devices
- Experience with Android OS, including security settings
- Experience with foreign and domestic social media and security implications
- Experience with commercial messaging applications and their security configurations
- Experience performing technical analysis on networks and applications to evaluate security and applicability to online operations
- Experience with technical troubleshooting related to networks, hardware, internet services, and mobile applications
- Experience in defining, analyzing, tracking, and reviewing requirements
