Mission System Data Architect

Job Overview

As a data architect on our national security team, you’ll use your extensive technical expertise to lead the design of data architecture solutions for large‑scale data solutions such as ingest, analytics, enrichment, and security. You’ll resolve routine data architecture‑related issues in collaboration with business analysts and technology teams by optimizing data ingest pipelines, identifying optimal storage and structure, including size, cost trade-offs, and recommendations on data architecture enhancements.

You will share your technical expertise, introduce best practices, and use tools like Structured Query Language (SQL) and near real‑time data streaming to design data models and standards, ETL pipelines, metrics collection and reporting, and leverage AI to extract insights from data. You’ll lead your team as it designs, defines, develops, and tests cloud solution components, and you’ll serve as a liaison between clients and developers to ensure that requirements are met and solutions are delivered.

Lead the design of large‑scale data architecture solutions for ingest, analytics, enrichment, and security.

Resolve routine data architecture–related issues with business analysts and technology teams.

Optimize data ingest pipelines and recommend storage and structure solutions, including cost and performance trade‑offs.

Introduce best practices and design data models, standards, ETL pipelines, metrics collection, and AI‑driven insights.

Lead the team in designing, defining, developing, and testing cloud solution components.

Serve as a liaison between clients and developers to ensure requirements are met and solutions delivered.

• Experience with data modeling and design, including conceptual, logical, and physical models
• Experience with ETL/ELT pipelines using multiple languages and frameworks such as Python, Java, and Apache Ni Fi
• Experience with relational and non‑relational databases such as Oracle, Mongo
  
  DB, Postgre
  
  SQL, Redis, and Neo4J
• Knowledge of SQL
• TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph
• Bachelor’s degree in CS or Information Science

• Experience with multiple clouds such as Amazon and Oracle
• Experience designing, implementing, and sustaining ETL pipelines using Apache Ni Fi
• AWS Certified Data Engineer and Oracle Certified Professional Certifications

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; TS/SCI clearance with polygraph is required.

Remote:
This position may require occasional in‑person work at a Booz Allen or customer facility.

Hybrid:
You will be expected to work from a Booz Allen facility frequently, and may also be required to work from or visit a customer facility.

Onsite:
Work will primarily be performed at a Booz Allen office or customer facility, where you will collaborate directly with colleagues and customers as required by the role.
