We are seeking a Web Software Developer to support the DEA in developing web‑based applications including online customer service for agency components to deliver services online. The role involves providing support in developing site concept, interface design, and architecture of the website, and implementing interfaces to applications. Working knowledge and experience coding in Java is required. Knowledge of ASP, JavaScript, SQL Server, Visual Basic, MS Access, HTML, Oracle, Sybase, etc.,
is desirable.
After an initial 30‑day onboarding period onsite, this role transitions to a hybrid schedule (4 days onsite, 1 day remote).
Responsibilities- Understand client requirements and how they translate into application features
- Collaborate with a team of IT professionals to set specifications for new applications
- Design creative prototypes according to specifications
- Write high‑quality source code to program complete applications within deadlines
- Perform unit and integration testing before launch
- Conduct functional and non‑functional testing
- Troubleshoot and debug applications
- Evaluate existing applications to reprogram, update and add new features
- Assist in the monitoring and diagnosis of performance problems. Familiarity but functional application knowledge and experience with the MS Access database and Microsoft SQL
- Contractor shall have a Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in Computer Science, or Engineering and a minimum of 5 years of experience, developing / administering in SharePoint, Visual Basic and SQL environments.
- Candidate should have experience with HTML/CSS, JavaScript, Git and Git Hub, HTTP and REST, Web architecture, Basic design skills, Database storage, NPM, Adobe Cold Fusion Microsoft Share Point
- Minimum of an active Secret clearance
- Excellent problem‑solving skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a related field
- Experience working in a Federal IT environment
- Scripting or automation experience (e.g., Power Shell)
- Experience supporting system hardening and compliance initiatives
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Standard office environment; ability to lift 25 pounds
