Senior Cyber Threat Analyst – Amentum
Amentum is seeking a Senior Cyber Threat Analyst to support our U.S. Department of Energy and Counterintelligence (DOE‑IN) contract. Positions will be based in the Washington, D.C. area.
Responsibilities- Provide integrated CI cyber-technical analytic expertise supporting the DOE Counterintelligence Directorate.
- Conduct cyber analytical activities, evaluate information/technical/physical security systems and practices, conduct cyber investigations, and related duties.
- Identify, investigate, and analyze cyber events of CI significance.
- Adapt and develop tools for applying standard cyber security and analysis practices to the CI mission.
- Perform all source intelligence analysis to determine and report on characteristics of various systems/issues and other project/program objectives.
- Analyze classified and unclassified networks to identify security vulnerabilities and intrusion detection parameters.
- Report changes, trends, and implications of evolving issues.
- Collect data, analyze results, and prepare reports relating to project/program objectives.
- Integrate research results and analysis into operations.
- Establish liaison with DOE offices, the USIC, and law‑enforcement agencies.
- Active Top Secret/SCI Clearance is required.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university is preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years experience in detecting foreign intelligence activity in the cyber domain.
- Demonstrated ability to correlate Computer Network Operations (CNO) tactics, techniques, and procedures to known or suspected cyber threat actors.
- Experience in cyber investigations and use of cyber‑forensics analysis tools, multi‑source intelligence analysis, and knowledge of U.S. intelligence community activities is required.
- Capability to conduct independent research and to work with team members and partner agencies.
- Experience dealing with cyber‑based investigations and national‑security matters.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including experience conducting cyber interviews, defensive briefings and debriefings.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet short deadlines.
- Knowledge of DOE security and counterintelligence requirements for conducting cyber activities, including investigations and defensive operations in accordance with applicable Federal law, Executive Orders, and Intelligence Directives.
- Knowledge of DOE Orders, DOE/NNSA facilities, policies and procedures is desired.
- Demonstrated creativity, innovation, flexibility, and analytical problem‑solving skills are desirable.
$146,000 - $180,000 (good‑faith estimate; actual compensation may vary based on factors such as job responsibilities, education, experience, skills, internal equity, market data, applicable collective bargaining agreements, and relevant laws).
