DevOps Systems Engineer Information Technology Chantilly, VA

We are seeking an experienced
Dev Ops Systems Engineer to support the design, automation, deployment, and maintenance of modern cloud-based platforms and mission‑critical applications. The ideal candidate brings strong AWS knowledge, hands‑on CI/CD experience, and a deep understanding of containerized environments and Dev Ops best practices.

• Design, implement, and support cloud-based infrastructure and application environments
• Build, maintain, and optimize CI/CD pipelines to automate build, test, security, and deployment processes
• Develop and maintain infrastructure-as-code to ensure reliable and consistent deployments
• Enhance platform observability through monitoring, logging, alerting, and troubleshooting
• Support container orchestration platforms, Kubernetes clusters, and associated tooling
• Collaborate across development, security, and operations teams to improve platform resilience and performance
• Maintain strong version control discipline across all code repositories

• Active TS/SCI FSP Clearance
• Technical bachelor’s degree (Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field)
• 5+ years of relevant professional experience in Dev Ops, cloud engineering, or systems engineering
• AWS Cloud Platform
  • Foundational-to-intermediate experience using AWS Console and CLI, with working knowledge of: SNS, SQS, API Gateway, Cloud Watch Logs, Cloud Trail, Cloud Formation (CFN), Step Functions, Route 53, Dynamo

  • EBS, EFS, S3, EC2, Lambda, ECR, ECS, EKS, KMS, IAM, Secrets Manager
• CI/CD & Automation
  • Hands‑on experience with CI/CD pipeline development and maintenance
  • Familiarity with tools such as Git Lab CI, Git Hub Actions, Jenkins, Argo Workflows, or similar
  • Ability to integrate automated testing, scanning, and deployment orchestration
• Containerization & Orchestration
  • Strong experience with Docker/Podman
  • Expert understanding of Kubernetes (EKS or on‑prem)
• Familiarity with
  • Argo CD (Git Ops deployment)
  • Helm
  • Istio service mesh
  • Keycloak for identity and access management
• Version Control & Dev Ops Practices
  • Strong understanding of Git workflows, branching strategies, and code review best practices
  • Experience working within automation‑driven Dev Ops environments
  • Ability to document architectures, processes, and operational runbooks
