Cyber Security/Information Assurance (IA) Functional Specialist – Special Advisor

This role focuses on providing expert guidance, consultation, and thought leadership to government clients in the areas of information assurance, cyber security, cyber warfare, and cloud computing architecture/engineering. The specialist supports client and project teams with technology and policy development, training, analytical support, and quality assurance.

  • Responsibilities
    • Provide expertise and thought leadership across engineering, policy, planning, analysis, training, facilities, communications, visual design, human capital, business, and management domains.
    • Ensure quality in product/service development, design, and manufacturing.
    • Monitor products and services throughout the lifecycle and validate adherence to requirements through testing and measurement.
    • Lead or manage quality assurance activities and work closely with senior specialists or task leads.
  • Qualifications
    • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent work experience (< 10 years, depending on level).
    • Experience in a distinct functional or cross‑functional business area with knowledge of government and industry tools, methodologies, and best practices.
    • Strong communication skills and ability to coordinate with assigned staff and senior specialists.
    • Familiarity with DOD 8570.01‑M certifications at the appropriate level (Technical or Management II/III) and willingness to obtain required certification within 90 days of hire.

    • DOD 8570.01‑M Level I: CISSP, A+, Network+, SSCP, GISF, GSLC, Security+, CAP

Data Architect

Lead the strategic planning and implementation of database structure, metadata, and data models across the organization.

  • Responsibilities
    • Lead technical resources in database design and development, providing guidance to database administrators and application developers.
    • Develop and present technical recommendations, policies, and procedures regarding metadata, data standards, and data models.
    • Manage integration of new technology or mission capabilities into existing data standards and structures.
    • Monitor industry trends, evaluate new tools, and ensure database performance and scalability.
  • Qualifications
    • Extensive knowledge of database architecture, data modeling, and integration principles.
    • Strong programming skills and experience with SQL, ETL processes, and data warehousing.
    • Experience with metadata management, XML, HTML, and enterprise data standards.
    • Background in intelligence community missions, data standards, and secure data sharing.
  • Tools and Technology
    • Desktop and notebook computers; hard disk arrays; tape libraries; backup and archival software.
    • Database management systems (Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, etc.), development environments (C#, .NET, Java), and metadata tools (ERwin, IBM Rational).
Information Assurance (IA) Engineer

Plan, coordinate, and implement security measures to protect information systems, including risk analysis, penetration testing, and system hardening.

  • Responsibilities
    • Develop and maintain security policies, procedures, and controls for information systems.
    • Conduct vulnerability assessments, penetration tests, and risk analyses on networks and servers.
    • Integrate security processes and architectures into CIO and IC projects.
    • Advises on emerging information security technologies and best practices.
  • Qualifications
    • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or related field.
    • Experience in information assurance, risk assessment, and security architecture.
    • Strong knowledge of DOD/DOE information security requirements and standards.
    • Certification in relevant areas such as CISSP, CISA, or SSCP preferred.
Program Manager (High‑Security Clearance)

Manage and oversee large‑scale programs requiring TS/SCI clearance and counter‑intelligence polygraph. Responsibilities include planning, coordination with contractors, and ensuring compliance with security and quality standards.

  • Responsibilities
    • Coordinate cross‑functional teams and manage program schedules and budgets.
    • Ensure adherence to security requirements, color language, database risk reduction initiative, and IM threat tolerance.
    • Track and report progress, risks, and issues to senior leadership.
    • Maintain detailed documentation of program activities, training, and compliance.
  • Qualifications
    • Minimum 3 years experience leading large programs in federal or defense environments.
    • TS/SCI clearance with active IA or Counter‑Intelligence polygraph.
    • Strong Project Management Professional or PMP certification preferred.
