Job Overview

Altamira Technologies, headquartered in McLean, VA, is a leading provider of innovative solutions for the U.S. National Security community. This position is for a Linux System Administrator who will support the development, testing, deployment, operation, and maintenance of mission‑critical applications and services for a Cross Domain Solution (CDS) located in Chantilly, VA.

• Provide Linux system administration support for the development, testing, deployment, operation, and maintenance of various mission‑critical applications and services.
• Configure and support tools to maintain and monitor the health of a large data transfer and message processing infrastructure.
• Administer and enhance a data metrics collection and dashboarding system to simplify operator supervision of overall system performance.
• Assist with SNMP monitoring and data metrics collection in a diverse architecture.
• Patching, troubleshooting, debugging, and creating workaround solutions for geographically distributed Linux‑based applications.
• Incident response management for the CDS solutions, including interface with federal personnel to communicate SLA metrics and incident remediation.
• Develop scripts or small applications to automate operations and maintenance, and potentially develop sensors to accelerate detection of failed systems.
• Create documentation for operations, sustainment, and user guides.

• Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7/8/9.
• System administration including virtualization, user account management, application update repository maintenance.
• Creation and management of Ansible playbooks for task automation.
• Maintenance and usage of Git repositories and version control.
• Experience with Docker, Python, and Bash scripting.
• Familiarity with virtualization technologies such as VMware ESXi and Proxmox.
• Knowledge of SNMP monitoring and data metrics collection.
• Experience with incident response management and SLA reporting.

TS/SCI with CI Poly required.
