Overview
As a Dev Ops Engineer at Booz Allen, you’ll streamline the software development lifecycle across cloud, hybrid, and secure environments. You’ll incorporate automation, scripting, open‑source tooling, and cloud resources to reduce manual overhead and accelerate delivery. You’ll also build and validate test environments, support continuous integration and deployment, troubleshoot complex systems, and enhance operational reliability through monitoring and telemetry analysis.
What You’ll Work On- Support the development and enhancement of secure enterprise applications, automation tools, and workflows on AWS Cloud.
- Build and refine automation using scripting languages such as Python or Bash to improve repeatability and operational efficiency.
- Assist with deployment validation, configuration assessments, patching workflows, and release readiness across enterprise environments.
- Troubleshoot and analyze system, application, and network issues, contributing to root‑cause analysis and reliability improvements.
- Stand up isolated test environments to validate configuration changes, ensure interoperability, and support rollback planning.
- Monitor logs, telemetry, and system‑health indicators to identify risks, guide remediation, and support continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional engineering, cybersecurity, and mission teams to contribute to a culture anchored in values, clarity, and impact.
- Document technical procedures, runbooks, troubleshooting guides, and operational standards to support continuity and team readiness.
- 2+ years of experience with cloud environments such as AWS.
- 2+ years of experience supporting CI/CD or Dev Sec Ops ‑aligned build, release, or configuration management.
- Experience troubleshooting across systems, networks, or application layers.
- Ability to interpret logs, metrics, and telemetry to identify issues and support data‑driven resolution.
- Strong communication and collaborative skills aligned with Booz Allen’s values‑driven delivery culture.
- TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph.
- HS diploma or GED and 5+ years of experience with cloud environments, programming languages, and supporting CI/CD or Dev Sec Ops ‑aligned build, release, or configuration management; OR Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or Engineering and 3+ years of experience with cloud environments, programming languages, and supporting CI/CD or Dev Sec Ops ‑aligned build, release, or configuration management.
- Experience with Agile methodology, extreme programming, software engineering, product management, or software products.
- Experience with AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, or cloud‑native engineering patterns.
- Experience conducting security testing or supporting compliance frameworks such as NIST 800‑53 and ISO 27001.
- Experience producing technical documentation, runbooks, and troubleshooting guides for operational teams.
- Cloud certification such as AWS Cloud Practitioner Certification.

Compensation and BenefitsThe projected compensation range for this position is $69,400.00 to $ (annualized USD). Full‑time and part‑time employees working at least 20 hours a week are eligible for the full benefits program; part‑time employees below this threshold are eligible for select offerings.
