Position: Software Quality Assurance (QA) Specialist/Applications Tester

Edge Works is seeking U.S. citizens with a TS/SCI‑eligible clearance (or higher) and a Counter‑Intelligence polygraph to work on long‑term, permanent roles. These positions are in Chantilly or Springfield, VA, or St. Louis, MO, require little travel, and are available in multiple functional areas. All candidates must pass a background investigation and receive clearance as required.

Role:
Cyber Security/Information Assurance (IA) Functional Specialist (Special Advisor)

Location:

Chantilly or Springfield, VA or St. Louis, MO. Salary negotiable based on qualifications.

Responsibilities
  • Provide expert guidance, consultation, facilitation and thought leadership to the client and project team in fields such as engineering, policy, planning, analysis, training, facilities, communications, visual design, human capital, business, and management.
  • Ensure quality is integral to the design and manufacturing of products or services.
  • Monitor products and services throughout the lifecycle.
  • Validate and verify adherence to specified requirements through test and measurement activities.
  • Lead and manage quality assurance activities.
Tasks
  • Develop security architectures and engineering specifications.
  • Conduct strategic planning and recommend implementation strategies.
  • Advise government on security and privacy policy, trusted product assessment, enterprise security engineering, secure systems management, penetration testing, insider threat analysis, cyber situation awareness, and more.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Broad experience in distinct functional areas across multiple markets (government, industry).
  • Strong analytical skills with a focus on risk management, security engineering, system certification, incident response, and operational security.
  • Ability to work closely with assigned staff, senior specialists, or task leads.
Certifications Required or Desired

Certification in information assurance is required; candidates must obtain appropriate DOD 8570.01‑M certification within 90 days of hire.

  • Level I Certifications – CISSP, A+, Network+, SSCP, GISF, GSLC, Security+, CAP
  • Level II Certifications – CISSP, GSEC, Security+, SCNP, SSCP, GSLC, CISM, CAP
  • Level III Certifications – ISSEP, ISSAP, CISA, CISSP, GSE, SCNA, GSLC, GISM
Tools & Technologies Used
  • Desktop computers, high‑end application servers, integrated circuit testers, logic analyzers, notebook computers, personal digital assistants
  • Cloud computing, IT engineering, and cloud architecture concepts including software, hardware, and telecommunications/mobile components
Preferred Education
  • Candidate level 1:
    Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (< 3 years)
  • Candidate level 2:
    Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (3–6 years)
  • Candidate level 3:
    Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (7–10 years)
