Overview
Byte Systems, a subsidiary of VTG, is seeking a Senior Dev Ops Engineer.
What will you do? Responsibilities- Building a Dev Ops pipeline using AWS, Azure, Google technologies, Jenkins, Git Lab CI/CD and tools like Ansible and Terraform
- Building and deploying infrastructure using automation tools such as Linux scripting, Python, and Power Shell
- Using knowledge of APIs to design RESTful services, and integrate them with existing data providers, using JSON or XML as needed
- Oral and written communication skills providing design, standard operating procedures and security documentation
- Willingness to learn new technologies and help clients with their technical issues before escalating to senior staff
- Provide emergency 24x7 on-call support to mission systems as needed on a rotating basis
- Experience in automating installation, monitoring, and O&M tasks using Linux scripting or Python
- Experience working with Terraform, Docker, and Kubernetes
- Experience with Cron, iptables, permissions
- Experience with OpenVPN, SELinux, Network File System (NFS) and Common Internet File System (CIFS)
- Knowledge of web services, API, REST and RPC
- Strong awareness of networking and internet protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, SMTP, HTTP and distributed networks
- Extensive experience with open‑source technology, software development and system engineering
- Experience with VMware technologies, to include vSphere 7/8, VSAN, and specifically VMware Horizon View Virtual Desktop Infrastructure
- Proficiency in data security technologies, including encryption tools, access control mechanisms, and other data‑centric security tools
- System Administration and IT certification in Linux, Microsoft, or other network related fields

- Understanding of Windows Active Directory, as well as the ability to configure/edit Windows Active Directory and Domain Services
- Active Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance, with polygraph
- 7+ years’ background in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cyber Security, Cyber Forensics, Engineering, or other related discipline, or equivalent combination of education, technical certifications, training and work/military experience
- 7+ years’ experience working in software engineering, application development and/or web application development and deployment
VTG’s estimated starting pay range is $175,000‑$230,000 annually, which is a general guideline for the geographic location. When extending an offer, VTG also considers work experience, education, skill level, market considerations and may possibly include contractual requirements which may cause an offer to fall outside of this range.
