Knack works, a Jacobs Company, has an opening for a Network Engineer to support our government customer’s global enterprise networks.

• The Tier II network field technician will support the installation and maintenance of the client LAN/WAN devices.
• Respond to and resolve incidents, demonstrate troubleshooting skills and communicate with the team.
• Complete assigned tasks within Service Level Objectives/Agreements (SLOs/SLAs).
• Draft and implement standard network change requests.
• Provide support to Tier III network engineers for incident management and projects (site surveys, TEMS, coordinate and install new equipment).
• Perform configuration management functions such as update topology drawings, ensure asset management records are accurate, and conduct inventory.
• Coordinate network operations, maintenance, repairs, or upgrades. (Knowledge of CISCO/Juniper RMA process).
• Layer 1 network experience (CAT5/6, SM/MM Fiber, Serial cables, SFP).
• Layer 2 network experience (ability to configure/troubleshoot switches/routers, MAC addresses, VLANs, port security, applying thin and thick configs).
• Layer 3 network experience (subnetting, familiar with protocols such as OSPF, BGP, HSRP, MPLS, LSP, GRE).
• Configure and troubleshoot layer 2 switching (VLANs, Port Security, Thin Configs).
• Perform IOS upgrades for Cisco, Juniper, Brocade and Foundry OS.
• Experience with Visio.
• Familiar with Service Now and Confluence.
• May have up to 10% COMSEC responsibilities based on site and team needs.

Required Clearance: TS/SCI CI

• Candidate must have 8 years of experience that can be a combination of work history and education. This equates to a Doctorate and 2 years, a Master’s and 3 years, a Bachelor’s and 4 years, an Associate’s and 6 years, or a High School diploma and 8 years. Additional required qualifications include:
  DoD 8140 Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level 2 compliance.
• Available to travel up to 20% of the time.
• Available to work flexible hours, including weekend support.
• Ability to work independently and in a collaborative environment.

The base salary range for this position is $90,000.00 to $. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and other factors such as job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
